  1. He will be sacked soon anyway, why don’t they do it now. I can’t see what is different in 1,2,3 or however many games he will be given, he has nothing to offer as a manager. There is no player development, all our our players are worse then what they were when he joined. He replaced our best player on an area with the new signing. Happened both in defence and midfield, what is wrong with playing two good players in the same area. It worked wonders when Kamara and Luiz was together in midfield against West Ham. Constantly try to get bad tactics to work, game after game, but is to stubborn to try something else. After losing Beale tactics and substitution have gone from not very good, to a total horror show. Gerrard needs to go now.
  2. Yes, we must have a new manager by next week latest, to have some hope to get something from the Leicester and Southampton games. With Gerrard in charge they are almost a write of as the ManC game. I fear the board would like to wait until the international break or even worse the WC break. It worked fine when we sacked Smith last year, but 3 points after 8 games, is so much worse then 6-9 points after 8.
  3. When Kamara and Luiz plays together they both looks better then when they are alone. In other words if we can get the midfield sorted, a lot of players would look a lot better than they do at the moment. The defence would look better since they will get some protection from the midfield, now the opposition go straight through like there aren’t a midfield. The attack would look better because we would contain the ball better, now we just go long and the opposition wins the ball back.
  4. We need a replacement in before Leicester or else it will be another 3 point lost.
  5. He will get a big payout if he gets sacked. The question is he that stupid that he think that team will do ok, or …
  6. He is playing Buendia and Bailey to blame them for the loss after the match, so he can play his regular in the next matches. But the midfield is going to be overrun so it doesn’t matter who is in the attacking positions. We know what is wrong with the team, but why doesn’t he get it.
  7. This seasons our midfield have been rubbish, bar the first half against West Ham. That means all our midfield players haven’t looked good either. When we have a balanced midfield where each midfielder is given a clear role that utilises their strengths, they would look so much better than they are at the moment. I’m sure McGinn would look a lot better in a good working midfield unit, than the rubbish performances we see at the moment.
  8. Premier League have become super competitive. If you have any weaknesses it will be exposed. You need to have a top manager, top back room staff, top player recruitment and top training facilities to stay in this league. One mistake and you are in trouble. Sadly we have messed up the appointments of our manager, and now we are paying the price for that. I still believe that we have enough quality in our squad to save us, but we need to get the next manager appointment correct.
  9. If things goes as we fear over the next two games, there is no need to include numbers from last season. After Saturday the number for this season only will be: 3 points of 18 available 0.5 points per game Estimated points total after 38 games: 19 The number is just to bad for this to continue.
  10. Yes. If he manage to get four points from the next two games, I would look into what changed from the first four games and try to understand if those changes could be used in upcoming games or the progress was just a once of. But all that is hypothetical, Gerrard would not change, and he will start with, Kamara, McGinn and Ramsey in midfield and Luiz on the bench.
  11. He have been injured a lot, and maybe he can’t get back to the level he was before. Still being picked or not being picked by Gerrard is not saying anything about how good or bad he is now, it says that Sanson is not on Gerrard’s friends list. I will delay judgment until we see what our next manager do with Sanson.
  12. Arsenal played Brentford, Chelsea and ManC in their 3 first matches. We have played Bournemouth, Everton, Crystal Palace and West Ham. It is like comparing apples and oranges. Arsenal starts was only a little bit below what could be expected, our start have been a disaster. Gerrard is clearly just looking for excuses, valid or not.
  13. In other words we can either have top class that other clubs would want or we can have barging bin rubbish that no one wants. Poch for me every time.
  14. I start to wonder what is going on the bench with his assistant and coaches. Are they just yes-men or are they as clueless as Gerrard or do they tell him that that is a stupid idea, and he ignores them?
  15. If you always lose matches you will get criticised. If Gerrard started to win some matches, there be less criticism. This is just how thing are. Expect a lot of Gerrard criticism in the future, because Aston Villa will lose a lot of games until we get a new manager.
  16. Most Gerrard out advocates, do not have a problem with his name or his Liverpool connection or that he replaced Smith. It is very simple he needs to go because he is a bad manager and he makes Aston Villa a relegation candidate, and the longer he stays the harder it will be for the next manager to get us back to where we were when Gerrard joined. I’m all for giving managers time, but it has to be something there that could make you believe that there could be improvement sometime in the future. With Gerrard it is the same mistakes week after week, with no improvement what so ever. When you think there is a minor improvement, your hopes are crushed more or less instantly. Like you thought against West Ham that he finally had seen that he must have Luiz in the midfield, to prevent the opposition to completely dominate the midfield area. What does Gerrard do, of course he substitute Luiz early in second half and loses the game. I’m sure his more experienced coaches must have warned him that it was an idiotic move, but he did it anyway. In short; he doesn’t learn from his makes and he doesn’t listen to advice or options from others, he needs to go.
  17. You have inexperience and then you have total clueless, Gerard belongs in the total clueless category. I’m sure it doesn’t look too bad, if you only watch highlights from the matches, only when watch the entire match you get to see how wrong everything are. Just look at the match against West Ham, before and after he took of Luiz. We were in full control with Luiz on the pitch, fair enough we weren’t creating anything up front, but West Ham was not allowed anywhere near our goal. Whiteout Luiz West Ham dominated the midfield and was allowed to score. And this is not the first time Gerrard have made gigantic mistakes like this. Not making substitutes in added time when we need a goal, it is so basic, you make the substitution in the regular 90 minutes, to get extra added time, instead of making substitutes in added time that will reduce the time you have to equalise. Also if you think a player would make a difference why only give them a minute or two. He have some experienced people around him, are they telling him what he is doing is wrong, does he just ignore any advice he gets. Gerrard is a lost cause, he will never be a good enough to manage in the Premier League.
  18. As soon as Gerrard is sacked and we have a proper manager, this thread will be gone. I really hope he is gone before the Leicester game, or else we would more or less give away 6 points against Leicester and Southampton.
  19. Rodgers is on 10m a year at Leicester. That makes 12m sound cheap.
  20. He will get nightmares when the next manager play Buendia and Sanson, and get us into Europe.
  21. I think Brighton will save on fingers and only give us one.
  22. It’s fair to say we don’t expect much from the next two games with or without Gerrard. It is a different story about Leicester and Southampton, our squad is good enough to get something from those two games. If Gerrard is still in charge it is very likely he would make similar mistakes he have done this season, and we lose both of them. That will mean we go into the international break with 3 points after 8 games, and that will be a disaster. In number that is 0.375 points per game and an estimated total of 14 points after 38 games. That is why it is important to sack Gerrard sooner than later, to at least have an interim manager before the Leicester game.
  23. Pochettino have said in interviews that he didn’t get to play his style of football at PSG. He likes to press from the front, but that wasn’t something he could ask Mbappe and Messi to do, so he had to compromise on his preferred style of football. If he comes here, he can play style of football he likes, and he will be backed by the owners, he could create his dream team. I’m sure it would be possible to sell this to him.
  24. Today we say how improved the midfield looked when Gerrard finally played Luiz. And there are more players on the bench that are better than the one on the pitch. With the right manager we would literally be a different team.
