I suppose Marc never quite fulfilled all the hopes .... but still gave a reasonable cameo here and there this season. Maybe we are aiming higher for next season? ... and back to earth ... Let go so the wage bill can be cut further? Yeah, that's probably more like it.

The argument though, IMO, is how can he make the step up if he isn't given a chance? I haven't seen him in training, but our staff have and they are apparently not impressed. If he can't show anything in training, why should they risk gambling on him and pick him for the team?

The problem for players like Helenius and Cornelius (and Okore? .. well, we'll see next season) is, the difference between the Danish league and the Premier League is huge. Only player in recent memory, who's been able to make that transition sucessfully, is Daniel Agger.

Rather the devil you know and so on ..... but we'll see. I hope VP will remain Villa Park and the name will remain Aston Villa Football Club ... But maybe I'm just an old fart romantic and the only way forward is playing your football at Red Bull Arena Park with a team in some can-looking shirts called Red Bullers .... or similar. Replace Red Bull at your peril with another company name. With FFP being implemented and the penalties we're seeing for the likes of Citeh and PSG (and Chelsea next season?), the uber rich Arab or Russian owner won't have the same impact as before. Neither will UEFA like the Red Bull Bottlers £200 mill a year sponsorship deal. UTV

And then we'll win at WHL and prevent Spurs (my 2nd least favourite football team in the world) from even qualifying for the EL ... but now I am getting ahead of myself UTV ... we'll probably lose 4-1, but I am hoping for a 1-1 draw tonight.

Considering I genuinely feared we would be relegated, I am celebrating 38 points like we just won the PL and the CL. Andi W. for MOTM and special mentioning to Bowery. Never knew, Bowery had such a good first touch and ball control. Well, well. Live and learn. Maybe the potential to be a new Collymore.
