  1. I understand we are undefeated in 22 games in a row, when Gabby scores ...
  2. Oh dear oh dear. Swansea haven't won back-to-back PL matches for 17 month ... the Villa record breaking team is a perfect opponent in such a situation ..
  3. If they fight as well as last weekend and get a little luck on the way, we could get another draw ... I think that's the best outcome. As winning would mean, a Villa player scored a goal ... and that's ... got long odds.
  4. First half wasn't so good. 2. better and I actually think, the team put in a decent shift and battled (with some good fortune too) their way to a point. 35 points now and better GD than the chasers. It could be worse.
  5. A point is a point is a point is a point ... and 35 points is better than 34 points. .. UTV
  6. Saints haven't got much to play for. They should just let us have the 3 points .. PlllleAAAzzzzzEEE.
  7. Bingo! ... if the club doesn't find some extra income, FFP won't allow unlimited spending. The days, where a club (like Chelsea FC) could spend, spend, spend and lose £650 mill over a 10 year period in order to 'build a team', is long gone. The big clubs' wage bill is near £200 mill a year. Our total revenue is just above £80 mill. Sure a sponsorship with Orcale worth £200 mill a year would help, but UEFA wouldn't look kindly on that. The rules are easily circumvented. FFP is a farce. If you say so and who am I to argue. City and PSG though are both in UEFA spotlight due to fantom sponsorship deals.

  9. Will we be the new FC Holywood? ... Two trusted Lambert lieutenants out, but Lambert's job is not threatened? Hmmmm. Right. Ok. If you say so. Cowans in is understandable. But Shay Given?!?! Is that another Shay Given than the uber expensive goalie in the Bomb Squad, we've tried to off load for a couple of years now? In another Telegraph article it says, we're cutting life support to dead woods : Luna, Sylla, Bowery, Helenius and Tonev. Those 5 might be bought cheap and are all on cheap (for PL standard) wages, but we could have had 1 good player for the same money instead of those 5.
  10. You do understand that there is a public message and a private message and that they may be different to each other Yes, I do actually understand that. But there is no named player targetted in admitting, we are in deep, knee high sh1t ... and the club's CEO has voiced grave concerns, so why would Lambert need to continue his 'we go again" and 'all will be well" charade? At this junction, to me he is sending the message that he is an austrich and his head is deep into the sand. Is an Austrich some sort of German speaking bird with long legs? corrected. whatever.

  12. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27022679 " Manager Paul Lambert sought to play down relegation fears after the loss. "There's loads of teams and loads of games still to play," he said. " This for me is a problem. Lambert appears to refuse to accept how serious the situation is. And if he doesn't understand or wants to understand, how can he then communicate it to the players. We don't need this "all will be well" attitude. We need fighting for every single ball, every single second of a game.
  13. Still possible to stay up with 34 points and a reasonable GD ... Norwich has some tough games coming up and Cardiff and Fulham and Sunderland and Norwich all have worse GD than us. If just 3 out of those 5 don't reach 35 points, we get another season in the PL
  14. We have a better GD than Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff ... that's worth a point. So those still need to get to 35 to push us down ... *clutching at straws* ...
  15. So Fulham and Cardiff winning & we are losing ... Maybe we can do the double on Man City?
  16. nil nil is a point ... and 35 points is better than 34 ... nothing else to say.
  17. Good luck, The Villa. Here's hoping for the best and fearing the worst.
  18. CP has been good under Pulis. Credit to them. I think they'll stay up. Especially after doing the double on us. My hope for Villa survival in the PL this season hinges on Sunderland, Fulham and Cardiff not getting to 34 points.
  19. We go again *sighs* ... CP next to do the double on us. After Man Utd, Stoke and Fulham just did .... I just can't...
  20. HOLT .... shame on all of you, who made fun of him... did he just save our PL status?
