Do you think if someone says something enough (again and again and again and again, ad nauseum), it becomes more persuasive to the point of becoming true, or... Do they just become more entrenched, more boring and a little more mad? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Thank God for the voice of reason. At least someone is prepared to stand up and tell us how it is. I very nearly got swept away on a totally unhelpful wave of optimism and positivity, but you're absolutely right, we've failed before we've even started with this signing and by contrast, you've succeeded in your soul sucking mission. Maybe give football a break for a while, for the sake of your mental health.

For sure, he's done some pretty unpleasant things in his life and yes, to some that's enough to not want him anywhere near the club. I'd care a whole lot more about his behaviour, if he was running the country, but he's not, he's just kicking a pigs bladder about and in that context, a bit of nastiness could be quite helpful to a team in need of some grit.

I can't remember a more boring thread on Villa Talk in all the years I've been visiting. Some of you lot need to check to see if you still have jobs or wives because they'd both be forgiven for dumping you given how long you waste walking round in circles and slowly getting absolutely nowhere. Totally and utterly mind numbingly dull.

Please define 'enough' because you probably hold a similar view to others on here who are pro having the Gabster back in the fold and I'd like to understand the thinking. Oh and please don't feel constrained by any need to preface what you say with any 'if he stays fit or doesn't eat kebabs' style disclaimers, we get that it's a punt. I'm interested in the 'enough' he has shown in your eyes.

Yes, keep sacking them until we find the perfect manager. Only the best for Aston Villa. It's the least we can expect and it helps to bolster my sense of self worth knowing I was right. Don't delay, no time to waste, do it now and do it quickly because I need to start doubting the new man's ability to meet my expectations. Why aren't you doing it now? You are incompetent.
