  1. I don't think we'll use them as wing backs, more fullbacks with a license to attack when the time is right.
  2. If we're are attacking, I don't think there are better full backs to have than Amavi and Yedlin in this division. The pace of the two of them would also be bloody frightening on the break. The jury is out on them in terms of defense though. Maybe with Jedinak in there he might drop back to protect Elphick and Chester when these two are bombing forward? Add to this that Grealish and Ayew will not necessarily stick out wide as they tend to cut inside with the ball more often then not. We'd end up looking like this on the break -----------------Gestede------------------- ----Grealish---McCormack----Ayew--- Amavi----------Tshibola--------Yedlin--- ------------------Jedinak------------------ -----------Chester---Elphick------------- -------------------Gollini--------------------
  3. Don't get me wrong, it's glorious. But I think he'll mean more to us than just being a professional beardsman.
  4. Ha! Birmingham Mail just used one of my tweets
  5. @Richard can't help but agree there. I think Tshibola will prove very useful eventually and he's a big lad himself. Certainly a very combative central midfield partnership in the making!
  6. Might actually be my favourite bit of news of the entire transfer window. Favourite Lescott moment: When he equalised for Everton before Young scored the winner at Goodison park. Thank you for the memories you absolute b**lend.
  7. ---------------------Gollini--------------------- Bacuna----Elphick----Chester----Amavi ------------Jedinak-------Tshibola---------- Ayew----------McCormack-------Grealish -------------------Gestede--------------------- I know Ayew is a decent player when he's on form but that right side really isn't the best is it? Definitely need to look into that before the end of the window. Other than the two in bold that is a bloody cracking team.
  8. Oh I know, 100% agree. It was pie in the sky, tongue in cheek stuff.
  9. You're right, I'd hate to sign a player who performed regularly in a Premier League winning side
  10. Good example. Although at least Drenthe had a great tournament with Netherlands to put him in the spotlight. Traore had that one great cameo against Notts County...
  11. If he'd come I actually would be quite pleased with this.
  12. Do we have any natural right wingers in the squad if Traore gets his move? With his crazy wages off the books we could go out and sign someone who will actually contribute to the team for more than 3 games per season.
  13. He's the kind of player that you could one day see at a massive club akin to Bayern or Real if he puts his head down and has a proper run in a first team somewhere so it would be a shame to lose him. On the flipside, if he never gets a run in a first team you can file him alongside plenty of other players who showed massive talent at a young age and never delivered. But at the end of that day, if he doesn't want to stay and fight he can do one.
  14. I get what your saying but I do think this is super harsh. 99 times out of 100 that ball either misses Hefele (sp?) or bounces off him and goes some other than the goal 20 yards behind Gollini.
  15. I think what we've decided is that assigning blame to Elphick, Gollini or lady luck isn't going to get us anywhere. There are loads of 'ifs' and 'buts' but at the end of the day, it's a new team, we've played well aside from this incident and we will, based on current form, only get better. I like this team and I like where we're going.
  16. Was he? S**t. *Please replace RB's with Full backs.
  17. Here's the bit from Birmingham Mail too (Scroll down a little bit to find it).
  18. Birmingham Mail running some gossip about signing Trippier on loan from Spuds but here's the article from RAV. What a signing this would be. Clicky
  19. The kids played against Wolves on Monday so might have been too tired to be selected for last night's game.
  20. I know it feels like it but we didn't actually lose Seriously though, agree with the above. We go again!
  21. After Jedinak (which I think is a fantastic signing at our level) I reckon we need a proper RB, a right mid and maybe another striker in that order of preference. Hear me out. Right back - Obvious one. Hutton is literal human garbage. Right mid - Ayew is not a proper right mid/winger. He's not great at tracking back and with his attitude I don't really want him covering the new right back and making a lot of tackles. This would allow him to operate solely as a striker to compete with Gestede and McCormack up top with RHM as fourth choice. Plus, we don't have any other natural right wingers in the team who can play regularly (Traore - fitness, Green - too young to be a regular this season) Striker - Probably the least of my worries at the moment but a loan signing of someone like Bamford would obviously be a big boost in terms of competition. Would give us 5 strikers for two places though which might be a bit too much.
