  1. Don't know which paper it was, one of the properly shit red top ones, but I noticed a story on the front of one today that 'Maddie' has been seen in Paraguay. Such a proud profession, do you imagine anyone involved in that newspaper actually believes the story they've put on their front page about somebody's missing daughter?
  2. if people read and acted on simple I.T. instructions Stefan and about a million others would be out of a job Also, I don't put paper in the photocopier when it runs out half way through my printing run. I just wait....and wait....
  3. cleared cache, problem solved
  4. we'll agree to disagree
  5. ...and similarly, if I click 'home' then I also get the same message. Click any part of the forum and I'm ok, but hit 'home' and I also get the message posted above by Czechlad.
  6. Isn't the song not working in Polish at least in part to do with it being a translation? I know a straight translation wouldn't automatically rhyme so they'l possibly have put an interpretation on it. But even so, it just might not fit because it's just not Polish in essence? I guess? I have no idea, for all I know the original of Tangled is Polish. I haven't watched it as I have a Y chromosome. For instance, we have a little sing song at the footy and the shouts in Welsh just don't really work or scan in english. Ysbeidiau Heulog being an obvious example. You can't get a shout going of 'Sunny Intervals', it just sounds rubbish. Anyway, Stardust and Enchanted are far superior films.
  7. I think it is. But you're dealing with a situation here where the specification I've been given to work with is: 1 - not a boring colour 2 - quite high up so it's easy for nan to get in and out 3 - a reversing camera 4 - quite big, but not too big
  8. So, would anybody have any opinion on a 12 month old Suzuki Vitara? 2WD version, would be used for typical family bus stuff. 2 trips to school every day for a bunch of teenagers carrying guitars n stuff, supermarket shopping, trips to Ikea, rarely see a motorway, needs to be able to carry a shit load of stuff every once in a blue moon. I know a pimped up G Wagen with led's underneath would be better, but it's not me that's going to be driving it 97.5% of the time. Only an idea, there's an ex demo one that looks too good (cheap) to be true, i.e., basically half price after 10 months as a demo. Which could mean it's too good to be true....right?
  9. I'm in the middle of a slightly one sided communication with them about when I'll get my expenses rebate, I wouldn't want them to take their eye off that ball right now. Now there's a complex thing, happy to pay more tax, but asking for some money back for the miles he's done!
  10. I thought the whole point of our annual personal tax pie chart was to get people to concentrate on what they wanted their tax spent on?
  11. The extra extra penny being too difficult was a nod to the government needing to prove a point that if we let the rich of paying tax then somehow we are better off. Perhaps if we invested in keener, smarter, incentivised tax gathering this wouldn't be so difficult. You know, like they do with reducing disability benefits. I realise I'm freaky, I think I've already mentioned I'd be willing to pay more tax. Unless of course, it's purpose was to let the richer folks off some more of their contribution or if it just gets pissed away in another war we don't understand and don't actually intend winning in any meaningful way.
  12. This driver in your anecdote, do we know if he specifically googled up the punishment for killing a child first on the internet, then selected one, invited them to meet up in a car park and then went out with intent and deliberately ran them over? If he did, I'm fairly confident he'll get longer than the child sex offender Adam Johnson.
  13. I don't mind as long as the money isn't being wasted. If we can save £30 a week by not handing out free money to some benefits type then after a thousand weeks we'll have enough money for one bomb that we can drop on some Syrian toilet. The alternative of getting people that earn over, say, £50,000 or £60,000 or £70,000 per annum to pay an extra penny, well that just sounds too difficult.
  14. fwiw I've got Hive and I run it from my phone. It also persuaded me to go 'online' with my whole dealings with British Gas, from meter reading to plumbing repairs and it's been a revelation. Just so easy and convenient. Not something I thought I'd ever be saying about British Gas. Usually it's just on the standard settings, but it is really handy to put the heating on or up an hour early if I know I'm coming home early etc.. It's about as simple as it's possible to be (well, I can use it!). We get a regular e-mail that tells us our heating consumption compared with others locally which is a little bit handy in convincing other people in the house that we don't need the house at 20c when we are away for the weekend. We can switch lights on and off too, which is a function my missus likes after we had a half arsed failed break in a few months ago. It can also act as a movement detector / alarm and send alerts to your phone if a door opens whilst you are out. Not sure I even want to know that to be honest so we haven't bothered with that. Oh, and as a side spin off, they gave us a signal booster as we have an old house with actual solid walls. The main upshot of the booster appears to be that we can now sit on the bench 60 yards up the garden and still use the house wifi.
  15. what they think you think every time it beeps: 'wow, that minx is very popular, wish I was that popular, what trainers does she wear, I need to be like her' what they think you think every time it pings: 'wow, she's really busy, I bet she's a young entrepreneur with a funky start up business that's soon to be featured in the Sunday supplements' what you think every time somebody else's phone pings, beeps or whistles: 'dick'
  16. Could it be that the 'boy' in this case was an adult male nearly twice her age ffs?
  17. Independent list of bastard tory MP's that voted to cut £30 A WEEK for the disabled
  18. @dAVe80 we'll have to organise a trip to the shop and do an hour of shuffling through their racks plus there's about a hundred bars and cake shops all around!
  19. Room temperature, fresh, raw, cauliflower and tomato with the slightest bit of herb, oil and vinegar. **** awesome.
  20. Consensus is that Hilary will be the next President. But in a two horse race, what happens when one horse is Trump and the other horse has a single disaster along the way? Footage of her slapping an orphan in a wheelchair, a tape of her saying all New Yorkers are dicks, or she has a health wobble? Does that mean that Trump, for all his toddler mentality, wins by a kind of default? Two horse races where you don't like one and a half of the horses are not great.
  21. I'm the opposite on the old fruit n veg. I used to be a vegetarian, then I went full carnivore, now I'm finding myself having meat free days that just happened that way not a conscious decision. I'll make a stir fry and instead of meat in there it'll be a few decent last minute mushrooms lobbed on the top. Thinking about it, last night was a sort of veggie fried rice n vegetables with a guest appearance from some pak choi. It's not a big deal, every chance tonight could be roast beef or sausages. It would be a disaster if I lost a couple of kilos.
  22. Yep, seller appears to have gone very quiet. Whatever, nothing lost. Money still sat with me.
