The picture change I saw was their FB cover photo to one without Delph in it, not sure about the OS. Happened about 10ish last night from what I remember.

Nope. Guess he's more Clevery's "replacement" if anything. Unfortunately have to say I'd never really heard of him before him signing but all reports seem to be positive, and the Marseille chairman throwing his teddies out the pram over not getting him also looks good. I'm excited to see him play.

The press were right, as were SkyBet with their 1/10 odds on. What odds were there on him staying? Probably around 7/1, at a guess if he was 1/10 to leave.

They definitely changed the FB cover photo last night after the BBC report to a a Delph-less one. It's what convinced me it was set in stone. Either the talks were very advanced or we have the most incompetent pr staff on the planet.

Almost feels like a new signing, was resigned to him going. Also feeling a lot less cynical now that it's obvious Gueye isn't just Delphs replacement and we are actually looking to strengthen.

Has he though? I remember a brief flash where he seemed to be flavour of the month, but most of the time I've watched him I've been distinctly unimpressed. His goal/assist record from is also very poor from the quick glance I just did. For £15M I feel we should be doing a LOT better than Townsend, and think we could, especially by looking abroad.

I'd say it is a lot more likely than not that a move to City was definitely on the cards. Don't know what happened, and I don't really care but I'm made up he's staying.

I'd love to hold onto to this slim slither of hope, but the fact that when the BBC reported the move yesterday the AVFC FB page changed the cover photo to one without Delph in it, pretty much confirms it for me. Unless it was an incredible coincidence coupled with the most inept social media workers on the planet.

8 MOTM awards, the most interceptions of any player in Europe's top 5 leagues and had the second highest average rating for the season in Ligue 1 (Just behind Ibrahimovic). On paper he'd be a fantastic signing.

Found out last night that one of the lads I was mates with in Primary School plays for Walsall. I remember he was head and shoulders above above anyone else, including other years, had no idea he made it professionally though. Only realised through browsing another football forum and his name was mentioned, Romaine Sawyers, which I immediately recognised and then saw upon googling that it him, was quite surreal. May have even been a Villa fan as well although I can't remember exactly.

Stoke City allowed 415 shots the whole season. We allowed 438. Brad Guzan made 101 saves. Begovic made 86.

Haha! Brilliant. He's got to be the biggest word removed going. After he what he achieved the back end of the season seems a very strange decision though.

We also had the lowest amount of shots faced per goal conceded, aside from Newcastle.
