It will make winning it less relevant to me. Best of the rest then and some of those teams still won't want to be in it. I don't know why we have two domestic cups anyway. The league Cup isn't much better than the Emirates Cup in my mind and the only reason I can see people wanting to be in it is the idea of 'trophies' but who cares if its something so meaningless? If you win it but it costs you 6 league places was it worth it? You get a day out to Wembley I suppose but is the promise of Europe's C competition enough to care? That's almost definitely a competition that the teams playing in will run at a loss to compete in unless you're the likes of Legia Warsaw, Red Star etc.

Probably correct, I hate the league Cup. It's of no value to the big teams, and anybody else would rather just not play in it. Then winning it essentially means nothing. A cup that says you were arsed when nobody could be.

Nah he was a solid championship player as a box to box, now he's obviously a better player now than he was then but he's better deep. With Rice being about 5 years younger I don't see the point starting Phillips over him since they want to do the same thing. The two together against a good team where we play actual wingers could be a good shout but this isn't the way to go at all.

The England team has become a joke. The players hate getting called up, the football has been dire for at least a decade and none of them take it seriously. It looks like more of a chance to hang out with your mates than it does represent your country. Being England manager is closer to a political position than it is a football job. The whole thing needs fundamentally changing.

I wouldn't say Rafa and Jose are the same thing. Jose's biggest problem has always been how he handles players. Eventually they stop playing for him after being thrown under the bus after every mistake. You don't get any of that with Rafa. A club like Newcastle was a really good fit for him, with more funds and a less cancerous owner he could still be there making them better year on year. Jose would have decided the players aren't good enough and alienated the entire squad

Probably not a widely agreed opinion but I don't think DCL should be anywhere near an England squad. He's a championship player with his feet and brilliant in the air. He hasn't scored enough to warrant being ahead of Watkins or Bamford. If he has these performances and Everton are 12th nobody pays any attention to him.
