  1. We beat Chelsea and they lose to Arsenal and Chelsea at the Bridge and we can basically wrap up 4th at Brighton. Would have us 12 ahead and they'd then have to beat Liverpool and Man. City to have any chance (and even then we'd just need a point). Was a tough opening 40 minutes but the performance after was sensational really. This team has the hunger and bottle to secure CL before the end of the season and win our first trophy for nearly 30 years don't worry about that given what we've seen in the last week.
  2. They've got Maddison attempting GBH on opposition players every game currently aswell. And Romero.
  3. Chelsea played well and should've won. They will cause us problems with their off the ball movement and incisive midfield passing. However if the ball isn't falling to Palmer in the box you just never think they'll score at key moment as Jackson, Sterling and Mydryk have wasted so many presentable scoring chances this season.
  4. We've had far far worse, he was lightyears ahead of Tonev who's a contender for worst ever 11. I think the problem with Trez is people saw him hitting double figures in Turkey and due to our three years in exile forgot how tough the premier league actually was. I remember in the pre season people were lauding him as this ultra quick wide player so I think in the opening few weeks when he was struggling to beat for pace quick premier league FBs people were raging he wasn't the second coming of Mbappe. He had his limitations but he had a great knack of gambling on stuff at the back post and that got us goals that won us crucial points. He cost us less than 9m which seemed like big money at the time coming back up but put into perspective by what has been spent in last five years.
  5. Not quite, there was no football in April 2020 due to covid. Forgot about his Leicester goal, that was some moment!
  6. Sunderland given up for the season, lost to Millwall at home today and also 5-1 to Blackburn two weeks ago so that's a good final day opponent for Sheff Weds unless Sunderland appoint a manager in the next week as that perked Rotherham up today. Their task now is to make sure it means something on the final day. SHA will go down if they draw their last two and Sheff Weds get 5 points from their last 3 games so win tomorrow would be huge for them.
  7. I think Sheff Weds will beat Sunderland on the last day who are very much on the beach now. So can they beat one of West Brom or Blackburn? I wouldn't rule it out. 7 points is probably too optimistic but in that scenario SHA would need to win both games to be sure of staying up.
  8. Norwich have Swansea next week so not a given they win that. Swansea and Bristol City similar level. I'd say they'd still rather finish 5th than 6th aswell. If the journalists are doing their jobs they'd also bombard Wagner with questions about his team selection with Huddersfield in 2017 so I'd like to think he'd play a decent team just to stick two fingers up to anyone questioning his integrity.
  9. Watched the last 20 minutes and they completely imploded. However beat SHA and they will be above them so it's not like they're as good as relegated just yet and they will be playing team with a terrible away record. It's all on Wednesday now, win two of their last three and SHA would need 4 points from their last two to stay up (as long as Plymouth get a draw from one of their games). Norwich only drew so hopefully they still need to win on final day to secure top 6.
  10. Well lose their final two games and they get relegated...
  11. Will spawn a 96th minute scramble off a corner no doubt.
  12. Star City is fine. Plenty of spaces available so just up to whether you fancy a 20 minute walk or not. Also can get back on the M6 at Castle Brom if you're going South rather than wait for ages attempting to join it at the Spaghetti junction. A little closer and the Aston Powerleague has parking but think there's frequent complaints about the junction lights so you could be waiting to get out of it for a fair bit after the match.
  13. It also means Spurs can't finish above us then just beating Burnley and Sheffield United in the run in. They will have to get draws and wins in some of the other games. I think some are seeing that and are petrified Spurs have them right at the end but in reality we could be so far ahead it makes it all academic.
  14. Chelsea and Liverpool are traditionally their two hardest aways of every season so not sure why it's a stretch when they've just taken 1 point from their last three aways and lost two of those 3-0 and 4-0.
  15. I expect him to be sold tbh. Had a token start at Man. City in the write off game so Ajax was his big audition and simply didn't impress Unai on the night. He's not some 18 year old kid anymore. He made his league debut for us two years ago this month and played 40 odd games in the championship last year so judging by Unai's comments in March he doesn't think his mentality is quite there. Not looking good his struggle for minutes with Donk loaned out and Kamara injured. SJM and Luiz also missing games in last month through suspension. We will sign another CM in the summer so think we'll sell him and Donk to cover that signing.
  16. Liverpool also now have a free week to prepare to play them at Anfield whereas they have the Chelsea game on the Thursday so very little recovery time and like the one in November they might pick up injuries and suspensions. We pick up just 4 points from Bournemouth, Chelsea and Brighton and that will still be a six point lead over them if they lose to Livepool and Arsenal and draw at Chelsea so that shows how close we are to 4th.
  17. I honestly think if we can get 9 points ahead of them it will just be too much for them psychologically. Just like surprise surprise Man. United couldn't just pull back a 10 point gap in a week as so many were predicting. Yes it still would be mathematical and all that but realistically with so few games remaining now I think teams would quietly concede it's not going to happen. We can get 9 points up on Spurs by winning the two home games. Or if we don't then we play Brighton away before they play Liverpool. In that scenario Spurs would have to beat one of Arsenal, Liverpool or Man. City to finish above us so would really pile the pressure on.
  18. What a night the Olympiakos first leg will be, Spurs will be playing Chelsea at the same time!
  19. Southgate missed the 5th one. West Ham put on a player right at the end who'd played for Gillingham in a previous round so it was replayed early in 2000 and we won 3-1 (think Taylor scored in that game aswell).
  20. Semenyo-Solanke-Kluivert. Tricky. Clean sheet is a big ask here. From the away fixture they were constantly backing off Bailey so he's a cert to start and was a great header from Ollie at the end, think Diaby assisted that one.
  21. Just thinking of our general shoot out record. Am I right in thinking the only serious shoot out we've lost in last 30 years was 1999 against West Ham? And that match got replayed in the end because they put on an ineligible player. We've had the shoot out wins v Tranmere, Inter Milan, Bolton, Sunderland and West Brom before last night so a very good record indeed compared to most clubs. Think it's due to the keepers we had at the time being great presences for those occasions. Bosnich, James had that Emi type presence facing penalties and Guzan and Steer also did well in the more recent ones. Also usually have a core of experienced penalty takers which helps aswell.
  22. When Unai last won a european trophy every single player in his team scored a penalty that night. We'll all be ready for the next one. Digne, Konsa and Pau could've all taken them if we'd had different players on the pitch.
  23. Liverpool going to the Monday night is good now. Got an extra 30 hours to recover from the SF (although I think we'll be far more comfortable in this one as Olympiakos aren't as good as Lille imo).
  24. Was very close to double kicking it. There's always drama with Ollie and penalties. I have to give him credit for scoring given it was a ridiculous delay with Emi and then the other ball being thrown on the pitch but I just never feel confident when he's running up. Compare to Tielemans and Luiz who are just ice cold and side foot into corners.
