  1. Sometimes the game decides that you will not win: Needless to say, we got rekt.
  2. You would have loved launch McCree. He was the most broken hero in the game (with the exception of beta Bastion with a 1000hp shield)
  3. A role queuing system would make the game immeasurably better. ie You would select DPS, Tank or healer then two teams of identical compositions (but different heroes) could be matched together. It wont happen as Blizzard are keen to keep the hero swapping foundation but I can see it being implemented in the next generation of class based fps games.
  4. Season 4 is coming to the end. I've slowly become a one trick pony. My win percentage with Torbjorn is above 60% and I barely touch 50% for the rest of my mains (Winston, Soldier & Zen). This is a problem when I have to choose someone to attack with on the 2 CP maps. I've decided to create a smurf for next season call Worst_Torb_EU for a bit of fun.
  5. I was once the head of regional coordination for the distribution of local media in my area.
  6. I've seen a car with the number plate KR05 0TV in Sheldon. You have to laugh at the level of obsession.
  7. Binning the 10p tax bracket as well. Scandalous.
  8. Overcooked, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and Sports Friends come to mind.
  9. Polybius has finally arrived and it's ace. Here's the first 2 levels with me playing it pretty safe. There's a lot going on and it's fun figuring out all the nuances of each level.
  10. I found the first dungeon to be by far the hardest (i've just cleared the third) because of the limitations you face with only 4 party members and very low SP. I made the mistake of demanding money and items which cost me a lot of vital early xp. The next 2 were longer but you can over level yourself comfortably by grinding on weaker enemies. I've had a couple of cheap game overs though against the mini bosses but you have to laugh sometimes at the luck of drawing a weak hit then a critical then a follow up against Joker on their first turn. I've managed to counter this by picking up Shiki-Ouji (Chariot persona) which blocks all physical attacks. I've leveled him up so his physical attack can wipe a stack of enemies in one hit. I'll be gutted when I eventually have to move on. I think that's why it's so good. There are too many games that check boxes and listen to focus groups rather than design the games they want to. Had another publisher got their hands on the game, I'd imagine the turn based combat would have gone as well as adding in the inevitable crafting system and perk tree.
  11. When you enter the first palace a second time it's a good idea to grind the lower levels with melee/gun weapons only. You'll gain a lot of xp, money and treasure without burning a lot of sp.
  12. Caved in and bought it (was hoping to pick it up later in a sale). It's bl**dy fantastic. The soundtrack isn't quite as good as 4 but the highly stylised theme is the best yet. Why can't all games be this good?
  13. Polybius has a release date of the 10th May. It looks fantastic so hoping it will live up to expectation. I will probably preorder as I love Jeff Minter.
  14. Managed to hit diamond but the toxity at that level is putting me off the game tbh. I probably received a dozen messages over 6 months playing battle mercy and attack Torb in gold/silver which was probably deserved. I'm now averaging one a night for not pocket healing Pharahs because they all believe they are the chosen one. Torb still works at this level and is actually my most successful character. I still will religiously pick attack Torb on Kings Row as flanking the enemy and setting up turrets behind them is a lot of fun.
  15. The F2P hero shooter, Paladins, has recently hit the PS4 as a beta and I have enjoyed playing it. It is very similar to Overwatch, for those used to that game, with a few subtle differences. The champions are more rounded, meaning that supports and tanks can output a fair amount of damage. There is no hero switching (rather there are moba-esque upgrades you can level up to counter certain set ups). Ultimates are far less powerful meaning the inevitable team wipes you get in Overwatch are rarely seen. It's obviously less polished & not as well voice acted but it's a decent game in its own right. So far it's not pay2win. All the champions can be unlocked with the founders pack (around £10-15) and the loadout cards can be bought with minimal grinding (I have been able to get the cards I want for any hero by about level 4). Aside from the founders pack, I can't see any reason to spend money in the game as the cosmetics are very basic at the moment. The only incentive may be to purchase xp boosts to decrease the time it takes to get into competitive play (at the moment it will probably take 20-30 hours to qualify)
  16. Orisa's lack of mobility seems to be a big crutch. She is easy meat if isolated or if the opposition holds the high ground. Her ultimate is great though so I think she may feature in a few surprise team comps.
  17. Persona 3 and 4 are fantastic - worth picking up a Vita just to play them. Expect a fair amount of reading though - They both have long setups IIRC. The only link between 3 & 4 comes in the fighting game which is pretty fun with some good stories.
  18. I really like the Witness but it definitely falls short in some areas. The puzzles are some of the hardest and rewarding I've come across (f*ck tetris though). The problem is that you will hit a dead end on a number of occasions and be left with the choice to either hit your head against a brick wall staring at the same puzzle for ages or give up and move on. Either way, it does break the flow and immersion. When you do finally find that abstract solution, though, it is very satisfying - only once did I think the logic was cheap. The easter eggs are very nice. I've been watching a lot of James Burke videos on Youtube thanks to this game.
  19. Hightower has now made two of the great game saving plays to help his team win superbowls. The tackle on Lynch at the one yard line gets better every time I watch it and the sack on Ryan stopped an almost certain touchdown (Robinson is about to be wide open down the middle of the field at the moment Ryan gets hit). Given the drama in both games I wonder if people (outside of New England) will even remember them in 10 years?
  20. An astonishing comeback helped by some really bad calls by the Falcons. Matt Ryan did not choke but his coaching staff certainly did. I still can't work out why they decided to run a five step dropback from the shotgun on 2nd and 11 from the 20 or why they thought exclusively playing a cover 1 in a shootout wouldn't gas their dbs As for goat picks - I still have Jerry Rice, Jim Brown, Otto Graham, LT (the original one) and Hutson above Brady but he's definitely in the conversation.
  21. This game is a tough one to call. My gut feeling is that Matt Ryan will show up (doesn't do a Cam) and if he does I think he has too many weapons for Belichick to stop.
