    Villa get less as UECL doesn’t get the extra bonus point for progression to the next round until the semis. So the 1/8 = 0.125 isn’t added on.

    If you rest him you miss an important must win game. You play him and he gets booked, he misses an important must win game and a game we would probably rest him anyway. Just play him.

    So I have looked at a few different scenarios Scenario 1 - Man City, Bayern, Liverpool, Leverkusen, Ath Madrid, Villa go through Scenario 2 - Madrid, Bayern, Liverpool, Leverkusen, Ath Madrid, Villa go through Scenario 3 - Madrid, Arsenal, Liverpool, Leverkusen, Ath Madrid, Lille go through Scenario 4 - Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Leverkusen, Ath Madrid, Villa go through Assume whoever goes through gets a draw away from home and a win at home Current points totals are as follows Germany - 16.357 England - 16.250 I’ve ignored the points totals of the non German/English teams below Scenario 1 Man City - 0.500 points in total Bayern - 0.571 points Arsenal - 0.125 Liverpool - 0.500 Leverkusen - 0.571 West Ham 0.125 Dortmund - 0.143 Villa - 0.375 Germany - 17.660 England - 17.875 England have 3 teams and Germany have 2 teams through. Man City v Bayern in the semi is the deciding game you would think in that scenario. Scenario 2 Bayern - 0.571 Man City - 0.125 Liverpool - 0.500 Leverkusen - 0.571 West Ham - 0.125 Dortmund - 0.143 Villa - 0.375 Germany - 17.642 England - 17.375 In this scenario you are relying on Madrid to beat Bayern and Villa and Liverpool to get to/win their finals Scenario 3 Man City - 0.125 Arsenal - 0.500 Bayern - 0.143 Liverpool - 0.500 Leverkusen - 0.571 West Ham - 0.125 Dortmund - 0.143 Villa - 0.125 Germany - 17.214 England - 17.5 In this scenario, you only have Leverkusen left who can get a maximum of 1.142 points for Germany if they win the whole thing. You’d be relying on Liverpool or Arsenal to get to the final/win it Scenario 4 - probably the most likely scenario Man City - 0.500 Arsenal - 0.500 Bayern - 0.143 Liverpool - 0.500 Leverkusen - 0.571 West Ham - 0.125 Dortmund - 0.143 Villa - 0.375 Germany - 17.214 England - 18.25 In this scenario, only Leverkusen left with a maximum of 1.142 points available - i.e. max Germany can get is 18.356. England would just need to draw one game to get 2nd place in this scenario. I am discounting France and Spain as they are so far behind.

    Now McGinn is back. Expect him and luiz in the middle. Tielemans Diaby on either side.

    A big shame as he was getting back to his best. Rogers is the most natural replacement but I think we will see Tielemans play there till the end of the season

    Honestly, its a minor miracle. Tbh I thought we would finish 6th/7th because of Europe regardless of the injuries. To get to the quarter final as well as what you have said is just astonishing.

    I think that City game will be sandwiched in between Burnley and Sheffield United. It’s the only free week assuming City go through to the Semis.

    We are down to bare bones so all that matters is results. Unai is in grinding mode. It's not pretty but effective. Yes opposition had injuries but we rely on a way of playing and if players are missing then we are just not as fluid in our build up. I would also add Spurs are not playing as a top 4/5 team. They were awful against Fulham and scraped past Luton. They were similar to us against West Ham, all the ball and no end product. West Ham could have even won it at the end.

    I was hoping this would happen. After that round of fixtures I have us on 69 points withs Spurs on 65 points. They would then have Burnley, Man City and Sheffield United left and we would have Liverpool and Palace.

    Have to win but it will be a really tough game. They are getting their players back and Toney is due a goal. McGinn back is a big one.

    It's 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw for all competitions. You also get 1 point for round progression. UECL didn't have this last one in previous rounds but I think from the Quarter Final stage onwards it does?

    They all carry the same weighting now. So Liverpool winning Europa would be great for us.

    I think it’s so much harder to finish top 4/5 now than it was then. European trophy given the teams we are likely to play tops the league cup for me too.
