    They have Mbuemo back now so hopefully can score a few goals. Their defence is the problem. They are missing so many players at the back.

    Yup they get 9 and 10 points in those last 9 games in each season. If we get that then I am pretty sure we would drop to 6th.

    I think they will get to between 65 and 68. We just need to win 3/4 games and draw 1 or 2. Sounds easy but we just need to do our job. I mean this is assuming 5th gets Champions League. We will know for almost definite just prior to the Bournemouth home game.

    I get the Man U fear tbh. They have Sheff United as their game in hand so straight away they are now 6 points behind (effectively 7). That would put them on 50 points. The way I see it is that we need 4 wins and a draw. That gets us to 69. They then need 20 points from 9 games. I just don’t see it. I’m not totally discounting it but it would be a hell of an effort. Especially as they have a semi and potential final to think about.

    Mainly because there is only 10 games to make it right and we are 9 (10) points ahead. They need 3/4 wins more than us. If we win 4 then they need to win 7 or 8 out of 10.

    Isn’t it great that two years in a row we have been stressing about getting into Europe rather than what Watford or Bournemouth are doing at the other end of the table?

    I’ve seen plenty of talk in the media and online re Emerys time at Arsenal during the crunch run in then. It’s pretty foolish really. I mean just look at any other team he’s managed or even us last season. We picked up 17 points in our last 9 in fixtures that are similar in difficulty. Forest (H) = Brentford (H) - 3 Newcastle (H) = Liverpool (H) - 3 Brentford (A) = Brighton (A) - 1 Fulham (H) = Bournemouth (H) - 3 Man Utd (A) = Arsenal (A) - 0 Wolves (A) = Wolves (H) - 0 Spurs (H) = Chelsea (H) - 3 Liverpool (A) = Man City (A) - 1 Brighton (H) = Palace (A) - 3

    Man Utd can beat anyone on their day as they showed yesterday. Likewise they could lose to Burnley at home. We just need to concentrate on ourselves.

    It’s likely that Chelsea’s game against Brighton will be moved to midweek so could work in our favour as it would be a few days before our game with them.

    I think we are playing at 1.5ppg level at the moment. We maintain that then we will get 70 points. More than enough for 5th. 4th will be a stretch.

    Seems like Unai has no idea when he will be back. That’s not a good sign.

    Key will be the next three games. Because that ppg could easily be 1 over that 5 game period. At best it will be a 1.4 ie 7 points.
