  1. People keep saying this. Mings is a completely different player to Pau and Lenglet. Mings is competition for Diego Costa. If Pau is injured for 2 months and Lenglet is not in the squad we have compromised our build up structure which is fundamental to the way we play. Mings is a superb defender and our poor record from set pieces defensively is because of how dominant Mings is with first contact and how weak Pau is. If you look at the two players profiles strengths and weaknesses they are completely different players. This is why I think it's critical we get another player with similar skillset as Pau and for me that's Hermoso on a free. With Pau, Hermoso, Mings, Costa and Konsa we have the perfect mix of player profiles for our system of one attacking FB and 3 CBs.
  2. There might be a reaction from Chelsea after that 5-0 drubbing. I don't think it helps our chances on Sat much if at all. We need the atmosphere at VP to be amazing and players to give everything. If we go 9 clear of Spurs that will be huge, the players know it.
  3. Well it's more next seasons account which pose the issue for us. We get the boost of (hopefully CL football) we also have new sponsorship deals which are kicking in. I doubt Heck will be idle either, we'll be adding additional commercial partners, hopefully sell rights to the 23/24 season. From there we have a good base, we will move some players on to bring in revenue and lower our costs. This headroom allows us to sign some players. I feel we need to replace Lenglet and add a CDM. Other than that I don't see any squad gaps. We might move a player on and replace them
  4. That is exactly my point yes. I think Emery will want Mings aerial dominance in the centre of a back 3 and play with one full back most of the time. I feel the attacking FB will be our RB more often than LB

So we exercised the option to extend to 2027 then? While we will sit down with him in summer to negotiate a new contract with new option I imagine plus some pay bumps for him

I think the time he's given to totally build and adapt his squad and have complete control of the football operations is big for him

His contract wasn't until 2027, he's signed an extension to 2027. I think his contract was to 2025 or 2026 so it's a short extension, probably to insert a bigger buyout clause in exchange for another year or two. I think in summer they'll look to get creative. Set performance targets that trigger an extension. I like the idea of locking him down on a log contract
  8. Yes, very much so, seems happy to play Left side or Right side. Might be very proficient with both feet. If we're building a squad with 5 CBs with Pau / Konsa able to play LB/RB then a versatile player like this would be good to add to the squad.
  9. He seems to have played full back quite a bit this season too. Could be one of those Emery specials, sign a player and change his position.

Hopefully this is a boost to the players. I think Emery seeing how the off field elements are catching up to his ambitions.
  11. I think if we sign a new RB Cash will be sold.
  12. Sanson buy option probably triggered. He's done well in Nice Hause will be a loan, Chambers hopefully can find a club. Dendonker is difficult now he's played no football in Naopli. Coutinho will be a loan again probably. I think Olsen will stay as we need 3 keepers. Digne might go but we'd need to replace unless we are planning to play Pau often at LB with Mings and Konsa Hard to know as Emery will have another tactical evolution to come
  13. European football consistently, bigger sponsors and a focus on increasing matchday revenue. We could potentially break the £300m in revenue next season. Football performances are keeping us close to the other big clubs in terms of prize money. We have to close the gap every year commercially as that is the difference maker.
  14. I think it's key to get to a US Audience for sure.
  15. This new deal for £20m a season and the new Adidas deal. We are really getting going on the increased revenue. Keep it up Heck keep it up. What's next? I think we have filmed this season? I think sell it for a documentary ?
  16. I think overall the recruitment at the club has been excellent. I am confident we'll make the right signings this summer and with players returning from injury too and some young players progressing we are in a good place
  17. Moreno and Rogers for the prices we've paid. top work. I think Pau has been a steal at the price too.

Very interesting stats there. We do seem to play specific game plans to conserve energy especially when we are in control of the game.
  19. Diaby has had a good first season. I'm sure he'll improve next season too. Lots of competition for places is what we've needed
  20. Hopefully he's fit for Chelsea game. We need as many players back fit as possible
  21. I think we need to at least Loan in another CM for the season. Unless we're looking at JJ as more an option centrally than we have to date.
  22. I take the view of Europa League being a good competition for the next season. A Trophy they will be among the favs for. They are so rich from their stadium and commercial income CL money isn't important for them.
  23. Chelsea will be a tough game. I just feel like the two home games being at 8pm might help us with the atmosphere. Also with our away from being good we can get wins at Brighton and Palace. It's in our hands The one worry is Spurs best form is against the top sides. You'd still hope it would be tough for them to win away to Chelsea and Liverpool, especially as both rarely lose at home. I think they've both lost only once at home since October. Then Spurs at home to Arsenal and City (who could win and clinch title that game) those are tough games. I think they'll get a win a draw and 2 losses there. I just hope we can bring the energy levels, mid table teams at end of the season like Brighton and Palace with nothing to play for. We will be treating those games as finals
  24. When I did the numbers. I thought Spurs would win 3 of the remaining 6 games, draw one and lose 2. Which gives them 10 points and end on 70. So we needed 70 points and a better goal difference (which is risky as they play Sheffield United last game of season) or we need 71+
  25. Watkins has scored 27 goals and has 12 assists so far this season. Let that sink in for a minute.
