The trouble is that the show needs to reach a conclusion and all the plot lines have to come together, that inevitably leads to some predictable outcomes. It is easier to be entertaining in previous seasons when we are dealing in subplots and side characters whilst laying groundwork for the main plot lines but when those plot lines are actually finally realised on screen it becomes a bit of an anti climax.

He is alienating his base with the removal of Gorka / Bannon / Afghanistan but he is never going to win over any other group. He looks like he is on his last legs. I think Republicans will give the tax cuts a go then dump him.

McGregor lasted longer than I thought he would but besides a handy upper cut in the first didn't really land anything.

Trump likes to tell a (made up) story about how Pershing would dip bullets in pigs blood and shoot Muslims with them to deter other Muslims from committing acts of terrorism. I presume the stories play well with his base.

Bannon's interview today is interesting. I think he has a point about distracting the media with the racism issue and leaving him to focus on selling the economic nationalism message to middle America.

The accusation is about deflection, classic 'whataboutery', and plenty of people buy into it if it suits their preconceived ideas. The thing with Trump is, he is now exposed for what he is (if people didn't already see it in the primaries for whatever reason). Surly more people are against these views than support him (if not we are in massive trouble). I can't see how he could get voted in again if there is a credible opponent. People who would naturally vote against him last time were split, felt disenfranchised or were uninspired by their options whilst his rabid base were very motivated. Surely he can't get that lucky for a second term?
