  1. Interesting, anyreason why? Trump seems like the kind of guy who would look to bend you guys over and take advantage when you're at your most vulnerable.
  2. You are not worried at all by his 'America First!' rhetoric in the negotiations to come? Particularity given the potential for the UK to be in a vulnerable position at the end of the Article 50 process and potentially looking for 'any port in a storm'?
  3. Spotted on the women's march today:
  4. This is nothing more than hateful propaganda. Trumps inauguration is the most watch inauguration ever. Trumps press secretary tells us so! Sean Spicer: Trump inauguration had largest audience ever
  5. Obama should resign a day early to make Biden the 45th president just to ruin all of Trump's merchandise.
  6. There are two different Parliament votes here. One is regarding the triggering of article 50 (that one is being fought over in the courts). That vote could theoretically stop Brexit happening. The vote May is talking about is a vote on the terms of deal after a50 is triggered. If Parliament does not agree on the deal the UK will exit the EU with no deal in place and revert to WTO regulations.
  7. He's also quite good friends with Kim Jong Un http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/picturegalleries/worldnews/9902493/Dennis-Rodman-with-Kim-Jong-un-in-North-Korea.html
  8. Trump isn't considering doing this to encourage a more critical press, he's doing it to give a bigger platform to the less critical alternative media outlets.
  9. Living in Australia our teams play the Chinese teams in the Asian version of the Champions League. I went along when my local side, Sydney FC played Shandong Luneng in the knockout rounds. Sydney were a much better 'team', the Chinese players were truly dire, but Shandong had two strikers from South America who were heads and shoulders better than anyone on the pitch. It was pretty frustrating to watch their game plan to lump the ball up to the front two who would then make something happen. Unfortunately they ended up going through on the away goals rule.
  10. Agreed. Every time the team has a loss I believe we should sack our manager and appoint the manager of the team who beat us. That is a sure fire route to promotion.
  11. It is going to be in interesting ride.
  12. That is quite incredible if true. That situation cannot go on for very long surely, how could the country operate?
  13. People are just emotional after a derby loss. No one could realistically want to go through changing a manager again so soon, particularly in the middle of a transfer window.
  14. Hahaha, yes we are just 1 manager sacking away from being a top side!
  15. Potentially, however I am also not a big fan of assassinations on ethical grounds Sharing some of his sordid exploits with the world however? I am much more cool with that
  16. Hence why it's much better to force him out through an embarrassing scandal rather than make him into a martyr.

FIFA wants China to qualify every tournament (potentially India too).

They pretty much double their places and North America is to get more spots than South America. "The proposed breakdown would comprise: Europe 16 teams (13 currently); Africa 9 (5); Asia 8.5 (4.5), South America 6 (4.5), Concacaf 6.5 (3.5), Oceania 1 (0.5), Host nation 1 (1)." https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jan/10/48-team-world-cup-fifa-plan-2026

Presumably a third of the fans who attended will now be travelling around the world to watch two matches before heading home?

Just voted to have 49 teams in the 2026 World Cup. 16 groups of 3 teams i.e. 1 team has a bye each round. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jan/10/fifa-vote-expand-world-cup-48-teams-from-2026
  21. Now that Corbyn has come out in support of Brexit where do 48% of the electorate now park their vote? Could the Lib Dems make an unlikely comeback from the death?
  22. He is good at championship level where he can head balls clear but his lack of mobility is exposed against quick and tricky Premier League opposition.
  23. As a point of comparison Martin O'Neill used to buy known quantities from the Premier League and pay the going rate for them. We didn't get very many 'bargains' but we did have our most successful period this century under his transfer strategy. I think any truly successful transfer strategy needs a combination of these approaches i.e. a foundation of reliable known quantities (some would say 'boring' signings?) supplemented with a couple of gambles from abroad. Last year the whole squad overhaul consisted of gambles and just based on the law of averages you would expect a number would not work out, that's before you consider things like the usual settling in period required for players arriving from very different leagues.
  24. The game has not even kicked off yet. The lineups have not even been announced. At this point in your football scenario all that has happened is the draw numbers have been pulled out of the pot and everyone is speculating based on that
