We need to be smarter than just buying players. We need a blend of players that compliment each other. I think we also need to take a calculated gamble on some of our youth players. I think it's becoming obvious we can't "money" our way into the top six.

I've heard he's not signing until he gets reassurances about villa park installing a facility whereby beer fills from the bottom of a glass. Seems perfectly reasonable concern to me.

When was this written ? You seen the state of Brum city centre lately - it's a feckin bomb site of road works I really thought they'd clean it up for the common wealth games .....unless of course there's a cone laying race !!!!

Of course. (I did say imo) If Carney gets to be playing first team football in the prem or somewhere comparable - then the big money will surely follow in due course. Easy for me to say (I'm not 18 !!!!!) - the better players grasp the above. On the other hand he's one bad tackle away from it all coming crashing down.

Don't see what that proves tbh. Carney (imo) doesn't think he is going to get enough games soon enough. Maybe that doesn't worry TI or TI sees things differently. But If think if CC thought he was going to get a run of games he would sign. All IMO of course.

I think there is bit of paranoia creeping in here. If Gerrard brings players to the club who perform well and we win games than that's Kudos to him. I really can't believe anyone would argue otherwise.

All I've said is I wouldn't exclude a young player with first team aspirations from a pre season tour. I honestly don't see how that helps anyone.

As I understand it - he will leaving for a minor fee anyway won't he ?

I don't have an answer to that. We can't force him to sign a new deal. But excluding him from the first team pre season tour is highly unlikely to make him think he's going to get a run (or indeed any games soon)

If his contract was due to expire sure. But from memory it has over 12 months to run ?

Bad move if true. We should be developing talent - not selling them at 18 years old.
