Guys, I am also really happy, but this was one game. I mean, long may it continue, but a swallow does not a Summer make as they say. Encouraging and and excellent reaction to the sacking, but still. Let's not get too carried away.

We had much more movement up front and more options. Partly, I think, because we got there with more urgency which meant we didn't always arrive with a pace that allowed Brentford to consolidate their defense, and that left us with both more players to play in as well as more space to use. We looked a different team in the final third, quite literally, since we had more people joining the attack.

I think there is a lot of football to be had from him, and I hope he finds it and doesn't let Gerrard's sacking get to him. They were personal friends, but I hope he can find that spark again. Today was not it. He needs to sit a while and get his head into the game.

Great performance today, I couldn't believe what I was seeing to be honest. Lots of passion and will on display, and Danks did well with lineup and tactics. Goddamn I needed that.

Agreed. If they appoint him I will stick to my word and just abandon Villa for a while. I love the club and will always support it, but **** me if I keep spending money on a club that keeps insisting on either repeating all the same old mistakes or just can't lift themselves out the gutters. Agree 100% with the first part. I don't think we are as bad as we have shown the last year. But are there really Gerrard fans? I mostly saw different nuances to critique against him tbf?

Agreed, and we also tend to overrated the lads not playing. I am more than happy to be proven wrong, and if we get a decent man in and he's sacked off without getting something oit of these boys I will **** break down.

I get you, but that is a one off. It's like basing our future performances on the fact that we currently account for 50% of Manchester City's draws this season, arguably the best team in world football currently. It feels bad, I know, but it's not reality quite yet.

There’s another parameter as well. Look ManC. They have probably the tactically most competent manager in the world and lime two squads of extremely skilled footballers. These footballers aren't just equipped with physical skills,they are mostly also world class tactically. Both in understanding their managers instructions but also when to go outside the frames he lays down. That is much harder to quantify, and if you have a bunch of tactically inept players, you need to take that into account when appointing a new manager.
