  1. If CB goes, he wont go without us making a damn good profit on what we paid... We will all be a bit gutted because, even though football is riddled with mercenaries, we kind of hope that he feels like 'one of us'; Lambert has shown this season that his scouting network is actually rather amazing... He has picked some wonderful, unchecked talent for dirt cheap right under the noses of the big clubs and now people are talking about future England internationals and strong midfield enforcers etc etc. If we sell him, we sell him... We as fans cant do anything about that aside from have faith in Lambert that he will have a few jokers cards up his sleeve to pick up a couple of new fan favourites that the likes of Tottenham, Utd and Chelsea didnt because they, essentially, dont sell shirts or make headlines...
  2. Birmingham City liquidated. Ground sold to be replaced by worlds first Oxfam superstore. Players to go back to living in the real world and become butchers, postal workers, rapists and binmen.
  3. Tekkers one against QPR that won us the match I reckon... Really helped give us momentum for the next few games and gave us the belief that we could get out of it....
  4. Really rich isn't it? One of the snidest cheaters to ever have played professional football and who has seemingly made a career out of goading the Villa (I distinctly remember him thinking he was ever-so-smart with his 'I would really 8 to be a Villa fan now' tweet after the Chelsea hammering) has someone say something back that hurts him (albeit REALLY quite hideous and not something that I would like to be associated to any Villa fan) and suddenly its all of us... RIP his dad, but that doesnt stop him being a class A prick
  5. Yes you can... Yes you absolutely can... He has always had it in for the Villa and we should always have it in for him.... Even if he came out with some biblically sage and worldly wise advice and philosophy, we should as one, oppose him because he is a bellend... Plain and simple... I despise the fact that he has a pulse and still has the ability to procreate using the DNA in his curdled sperm.... He is a w**ker... 10000%
  6. Knowing that our attack is decent (CB staying would help!), I'd take any win with a clean sheet! Not me mate, im a sociopath... That two bob rugby club posing as a football team have been keeping me up late at night worrying... Now that they are miserable, I am well up for seeing our next result turning into a cricket score and battering the snot out of them
  7. Right.... Now to kick Wigan before they go down... To teach their players and fans a lesson in manners for not rolling over to our fine club in previous meetings and relieving us of this stress sooner... Bring on the next game and another 6-1 spanking ala Sunderland
  8. But Yorke wasn't Villa through and through.... He didn't have his heart in the club... He showed his colours and they weren't claret and blue by a long shot... He left us for United then went on to sign for the Blues...
  9. If Lambert has cut a vast majority of the major earners off the wage bill, we stay in the league and get all of that extra revenue next season, I think it would be a bit silly if Lerner didn't provide some form of warchest for his efforts
  10. After years of being mismanaged, played out of position and having his confidence sapped, it finally looks like we have our boy Gabs back... Which is fantastic because he feels for the club the same way we do... So chuffed he broke Yorkes record and hope he can go on to do a lot more for the club... He IS a Villa legend now, there is no doubt about it...
  11. Going 4-3-3 Adam Rachel Hutton Ridgewell Scimeca Samuel Leonardsen Kinsella Salifou Allback (Aside from THAT goal) De Bilde Heskey
  12. Well done lads. Keep up the good work and, some day, some of you may be able to step up to the first team like Gabby has done and break some club records of your own!
  13. Can't have been too bad learning your trade under Laursen and Mellberg though can it?
  14. For me, its the roll of a dice between Heskey, Makoun and Hutton.
  15. I live in Thailand and to be fair, the gloryhunter attitude is alive and well over here... People support Man Utd, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal (thats not counting the amount of people that follow Spanish or Italian sides)... Only difference is these people were born and raised in Thailand... They have an excuse... They weren't born in Europe... They see the football on TV and want to support a team that wins or has a kit that they like... I have seen two... at most, three Thai villa 'fans' since I have been out here last August.
  16. I was born in Sutton Coldfield to an entire family of Villa fans and have supported them since I have ever been aware of the concept of club football. We have been battling relegation all season and have been suffering what can only be described as humiliating losses (Chelsea, Wigan, Bradford and Southampton all spring to mind). 5 years ago? We had Laursen, Mellberg, Carew et al.... Footballers that really seemed to enjoy wearing our club shirt and playing for us... but thats when RL had it in his mind that those players were affordable... Then in 2010, Paul Faulkner arrives.... and we have taken what can only be described as a nosedive of biblical proportions since... I may be wrong of course... I have been reading this forum for many, many years. I would like to know what other peoples opinions were on the subject vis-a-vis our clubs ambitions compared with the ambitions of the money makers at the top. Kinds regards Phil Painter AKA DJ Villain
  17. Whats wrong with Sam Allardyce? Tells it how it is, knows how to operate on a budget... looks uncannily like he was a walrus in a past life.... Hes got the lot!
  18. From what I've read other people posting, he isn't that good as a manager. We don't just need a big named person, we need someone who can manage the team also.....Big names might attract players, but that isn't going to help us when we need to offload some who are on high wages for doing f all. Fair shout. Got to be a better shout than Bob Bradley though no?
  19. Whats wrong with Ronald Koeman? I thought he would be a decent appointment tell truths.
  20. excellent performance by the manager who used his head, played an established right back in the correct position and used some of those chaps who sit in that dugout thing instead of letting them sit there doing nothing... Great start to a season... and a definate improvement from being embarrassed by Wigan this time last year
