My Gut feeling, and ive no other evidence for that - I think well sign Moussa Dembele............ Wasnt the galatasaray chairman quoted last week saying hes pulled out as hed heard he was coming to Villa Out of contract in summer, available for nominal fee, probably a cheaper wage deal than Ings

I agree in recent times, but by & large certainly in my era - Villa always had good goalkeepers..... Spink, Bozzie, James, Schmeichel, Friedel, Martinez and to a lesser extent Sorensen, Johnstone were all steady for the level we were at at the time we had them...… Given would have been a good signing if it wasn't for the club trying to force his hand top get his contract off the books...........

I fully agree with this, I think first season Martinez was excellent, but the last two seasons not been as good...…. I think in the typical villa manner the fact he seems a likeable bloke masks the fact he is not infallible and has cost us points along the way That said, are Villa going to be able to get or attract an equivalent or better GK - I doubt it...….. so I think were in a good position with Martinez as a club, long contract so if he were to go, Id say wed want a world record fee for a keeper which would be great business...…. the flipside of that is, there only a handful of clubs who could afford a world record fee for a goalkeeper, and they're all sorted for a no1 keeper...… maybe with the exception of Chelsea who if you believe the tabloids are potentially in the market for a no1 keeper For me, if he goes, on our terms, its far from the end of the world.... who, hypothetically, could replace Emi...….. Bounou, Kepa, Meslier, Henderson maybe.....

If were after proven goalscorer, id try and tempt Firminho, whos out of contract in the summer so could be available cut price or free. Hes what 30, so wed get at least a good 2 peak seasons from him............ think hes about the best we could get realistically As a wildcard, id look at Belotti off the bench as well - we miss a good old fashioned target man who can get his head on the ball in the box.........

Would surprise me to see Brereton Diaz rock up at Villa....... Villareal have had strong interest for a while if you believe the press......... I think quite a few will have CL suitors, but you never know, but realistically Thuram, Ceballos worth a punt

some good bosmans this season to keep an eye on !! Skriniar, Tielemans, Zaha, Ndicka, Trossard, Thomas Lemar, Thuram, Kamada, Moukoko, Firminho, Shaw, Tsygankov, Depay, Dembele, Kent, Mina, Brereton Diaz, de Vrij, Adama Traore, Bellerin, Belotti, Doucoure, Ceballos Wouldnt be surprised if we were interested in any.......... id certainly look at Skrinia, Thuram,, Firminho, Tysgankov, Depay........ Hasnt UE signed Ceballos at a couple of clubs previously

Just a hunch, but I can see us trying for Zaha in January cut-price or the summer on a Free Transfer........... Emery was desperate to get him to Arsenal, id be surprised if we dont at least try and attract him across - only issue is hell probably see this as his last chance at a Champions League gig if there is interest.......... I think well go for Lo Celso as well, up for grabs at a good price if you believe the press, and UE takes him on his travels............

my only ever bit of insider knowledge; we did try and sign Etheridge from Cardiff last summer but were quoted stupid money If hes up for grabs cheap it wouldnt surprise me at all if we go for him

I fully aggree........... if we are to push ourselves higher up the division, then at least id be looking at two new fullbacks of quality Not saying we will, but its required as the two we have are bottom 4 material and I dont think theyve got enough in the locker to improve They would make as much a difference to our team as new forwards IMO

JulieB - what a psychopath................. great days............ i just picture her kidnapping a villa player/manager/transfer target and tying them to her bed and keeping them hostage, and if they refuse to play ball, smashing there ankles with a lump hammer............ proper Kathy Bates I wonder if anyone ever saw Kiyotake again ???
