There is obviously a bottleneck somewhere with the cash and perhaps I'm being too optimistic but I genuinely think the previous owners would have done due diligence when selling. Hollis was very certain Xia was the best option. Xia would have also had to go through full KYC/CDD procedures with Villa's bankers (HSBC) in order to continue to use the banking facilities. This includes source of wealth and full background checks going right up to the UBO (I assume the parent co in China) I think it would have been very difficult for a chancer to pull this off so I'm quite confided Xia isn't a fraud.

£4.2m and one week apparently I'm sceptical about one week... HMRC don't issue threats after 1 week.

I'm no expert but don't you need Chinese government approval to get money out of the country? Perhaps this is the delay in transferring funds from Recon to Villa?

Sounds like a quarterly VAT bill. The worrying phrase is "confident of paying". It should be, "It will be paid". Cash is king in business and many fundamentally sound businesses have gone under due to cash drying up. Sounds as though we need to restructure our finances - perhaps leverage off against some fixed assets/property we own to give us a cash boost then set about reducing costs going forward (selling key players etc) Doesn't look great

Seriously though, if she reported you for that she deserves all the scorn you can muster against her. It would be different if you knew her past but as you clearly didn't it's a disgrace you got pulled up on it. I work in quite a brutal office environment but everyone gives as good as they get including my female boss, who is the most inappropriate one there!

I LOVED Lost when it started... it was superb. Shame they couldn't keep the high standards up. There was some genuine jaw droppingly good episodes in it

Erdington High St had arguably the roughest selection of pubs imaginable! From the Swan, to the Roebuck, to the Acorn to the big old Queens Head, which is now a Tesco and flats! Not exactly the golden mile!
