  1. Dross. Again. What the **** is going on? I can't believe the manager would send them out there without a fully-formed plan A, let alone a plan B. Is it just a case of not listening to him?
  2. Yep it's absolutely disgraceful. Sadly all too predictable.
  3. Exactly. Being outclassed by better players is forgivable but being outfought, particularly in a derby, is utterly disgraceful. Each one of those outfield players should hang their heads in shame, the **** pussies. Also, got to question why, with two such big units up front, why we're playing with zero width and not put a single cross into the box?! It just seems so obvious, right? I can't imagine any other team not taking advantage of it, even slightly. What the **** is going on?!
  4. Haha yeah I knew I loved Manu as soon as I saw that video! To be fair though, my hatred for Ashton hadn't really developed by that point and a I'm actually pretty impressed that he stayed on his feet! Agree that we'll really miss Manu. I didn't notice Tomkins at all against Australia and didn't hear his name mentioned once by the commentators yesterday. Might not be completely his fault but I'm not sure I can recall two more anonymous performances. I certainly don't think we've got enough of an xfactor in attack to score more points than the kiwis.
  5. All very good points with which I agree. I also like Lancaster on the whole but have a few nagging worries about our lack of potency in attack most of the time.
  6. My main problem with him is that he is lazy. I was at the Australia game and the amount of times he couldn't be bothered to chase things down was ridiculous. I also think he's a bit of a donkey. It seems like every game he does something to fluff a simple try-scoring opportunity, for himself or others. I also doubt his testicular fortitude. Doesn't seem to have much of a stomach for a fight. I wouldn't be so hard on him if he seemed like a good lad but, for some of the reasons listed above, he comes across as a bit of word removed.
  7. Agree. Think we're in line for a pasting sadly. I know he scored a try (which he did his best to mess up) but Ashton was crap again. Who's love child is he?
  8. Have to say, having spent a couple of years living in Australia, I grew very fond of rugby league. It's a great game and they're incredible athletes. Played a handful of games and was a lot more banged up than after any union game I can remember!
  9. Great day yesterday and got the hangover to show for it! Awesome result. Not the best game or performance but they did what they had to to win. Mike Brown was outstanding and I think Chris Robshaw is massively under-rated. He was an absolute warrior. Again. Chris Ashton on the other hand... I rarely dislike players but I can't stand him. He was utter toss again yesterday, just like he has been for ages now (for England anyway). He's lazy and fragile in defence. I can't imagine a player performing so consistently badly in any other position and retaining their place. He seems to be getting a lot of chances...
  10. Exactly. Correct me if I'm wrong but they picked up a bit towards the end of the Championship as well didn't they? Cooper is back in the team and on form and Folau can be unplayable. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see them both have stormers...
  11. After last week in Cardiff I'm off to Twickers today to complete the England/Australia double header! Can't wait! Should be a cracker. Wouldn't be surprised to see us get tuned as the Aussie backline looks awesome and I can see them clicking and overwhelming our inexperienced boys. But at the same time, we've got plenty of potential. Who knows. Gutted that Manu and Corbs are out as they're probably my two favourite players (no homo ). Interested to see Tomkins make his debut after watching his brother last week . Here's hoping for a reversal of the score line, though!
  12. Really? Balls I was looking forward to that, big fan of the first one too. Yeah I thought it was absolute toss. Not even remotely funny. The mrs loved the first one but wanted to turn this one off. I thought it was basically everything that could've gone wrong with the first one, had it been in the wrong hands. Hated it. And it's not just relative to the first one - it's crap in its own right.
  13. Perhaps somewhat optimistically, I watched Kick-Ass 2 last night. I'm a big fan of the first one but I'm sad to say that the sequel was one of the worst films I've seen in a long time. It basically takes everything that was good about the first and gets rid of it. There's no anarchy or humour. The sub-plot with the girl was just awful and Jim Carrey was completely wasted. It can't feel good to be that director - seeing how much someone else made of the same basic premise and how much he **** it up.
  14. The whole final season of Lost was utterly, utterly awful and smacked of writers who'd lost the plot (pun intended) or just didn't care. But yeah, until that point it was great.
  15. Not a truly terrible performance but a thoroughly underwhelming one. We just have too many 'nothing' players who don't do anything particularly well. There's no attitude, no bite and we are beyond toothless in attack. I hate to single players out but Kozak and Weimann look gash. On a positive note, Luna MOTM for me. Kept Townsend quiet for most of the game and had a few decent moments going forward.
  16. Also 6-minute episodes is a terrible idea. One of the best things about Breaking Bad was really getting into an episode.
  17. He only scored one against Madrid as Taylor scored the first. Stan was only on for 25 mins or so but he had an impact! Hendrie was superb that night as well. I can't remember a hat-trick against Spurs? Maybe my memory has gone! Blimey my memory is playing tricks on me there then! I'm pretty much positive about the hat-trick though . think the hat-trick was a UEFA Cup game but not sure against who Jeez I must be getting old! My memory is shocking. Just checked and he only scored 2 (Draper got the other 2).

  19. Was only a kid when Stan was with us but two memories stand out for me: 1) His performance and two goals against Atletico in the UEFA Cup second leg game. Best atmosphere I can ever remember at the Villa. 2) Hat-trick against Spurs on Boxing Day, includi the injury free-kick into the top corner. However, I do remember generally being very frustrated with him as well, with such performances being few and far between.
  20. Hear hear! Up there with season 1 of Eastbound & Down for me. Although the new ones are slightly disappointing IMO.
  21. I'm actually quite envious - you've got a lot to look forward to . Heads up though - watch out for the new Netflix advert for it on TV... Filled full of MASSIVE spoilers!
  22. I was a little surprised/disappointed at the lack of surprises but at the same time, if anything had been a surprise it wouldn't have ended in the way I personally wanted it to and it wouldn't have been so immensely satisfying. I also thought that it needed a lot more Jesse! On the whole it was pretty much flawless and I found it a genuinely emotional episode. I'm absolutely gutted it's finished! Good bye to far and away the best TV show I've ever seen. I can't imagine how anything will ever compare.
  23. YES!!! Villa don't concede early and then take the lead?!? WTF???
