  1. Topical and of interest to Stevo Eurovision does little to help human rights in Azerbaijan
  2. If we remove the 'big 3' for the purpose of finding a new list, I'd say these 4 in this order of preference, though I'll admit to only having a very basic knowledge of how Paciencia goes about his work. Ranieri Paciencia di Canio Poyet This also assumes Moyes & AVB are non-starters. They'd be above those 4 if they were a remote possibility.
  3. Stuck a few zeroes onto the scale of what they did. UEFA/FIFA didn't have to bring in rules because of Chelsea. What they did bent the game but didn't break it. Citeh just broke it. So it's not different, it's just a different extent.
  4. It will no doubt drop to a point. I still harbour a hatred towards Chelsea because of what they did, but they never did it to Citeh's degree. I think Citeh's 'tax' will stay very high for a long long time. And United never had the concerted spending that Citeh have had. United's has been organic growth with a big signing here or there. They've done it the 'right' way over time.
  5. ... as they were sleeping inside them at the time #ChineseStylee.
  6. It's a 'debs' over here (short for debutante's ball). I never went to mine.
  7. I have so little to do tomorrow that I genuinely risk turning this on at some point. I will endevour to find something else to fill my time.
  8. Ah right, yeah, England have one keeper. Luckily, all going well, that's all you'll need.
  9. Last 12 WBA games from oldest to most recent LWLLLLLLWLDL The above also includes going out of both cups to lower league opposition (Ipswich & Reading).
  10. It was around the £22m mark but that's not the point. United haven't spent £20m in years. City rarely spend less than £20m and (damn near) all their spending has happened over the past 5 years. Buying a title is what happens in a small period of time. The fact that United's squad, amassed over a decade or more, is more expensive, completely misses what the meaning of 'buying' the title means. I suspect those claiming it know fine well that they're missing the point but are hoping their point will stand. It doesn't.
  11. I think this related to the recent city v utd game, which was when fergie said city had bought the title - figures in the press were that city's 11 cost 161 mill and utd's cost 169 mill. The above is not directed at either of you btw. It is directed at the notion that the transfer fees involved; and not the timescale they were spent over; are somehow the salient part of that stat. It's nearly 4 years since Man Utd spent £20m on a player (Berbatov). Their stand-out player this season was their 1992/93 breakout midfielder.
  12. They do indeed. Though in fairness, with Benitez I think some don't even realise that ALL of his winning football was done with Pako Ayesteran as #2. Benitez on his own has proven to be shit. I don't want him near us. It would be a disaster.
  13. Welcome new Villa fan. The 02/03 season had Enckelman in goal, Postma on the bench and Wayne Henderson waiting in the wings. Lerner will have to go some if he's to beat the thrill of having Enckelman in goal.
  14. I heard that too dogbonus. It was Sky (I don't listen to R5L). I don't think Whelan is right. Firstly, there's a difference between demanding total control at a club like Wigan and a club like Liverpool. I don't doubt that Martinez would want total control at Liverpool but I do doubt that he'd fully expect to get it and I doubt it would be a deal breaker if he didn't. If he's offered the Liverpool job in any kind of decent capacity then he'll take it. Then expect Bruce back at Wigan.
  15. I say old chap, I do believe I've been completely f**king pwned by yillan. Hat's off yillan, you git

14 years. So I suppose relatively new.
  17. Sounds like a euphemism for the old fella.
  18. Sorry Brian but that is simply wrong. In 2009/10 he started 36 league games and started a further 12 cup games. He wasn't far off being an ever present. In his other season under O'Neill in 2008/09 he started 33 games and a further 4 as a sub. Yeah fair point, my memory of O'Neill's time is dimming. Make it 3 managers overlooked him and the one that bought him didn't.
  19. I don't see how he can argue about getting a new deal when; as I said; 4 managers overlooked him. Whether we think it's right or not, that's what happened. If he'd been a better defender then he might've got a new deal or been played more consistently.
  20. Cuéllar was largely overlooked by 4 consecutive managers, one of whom bought him. If you honestly believe that's a symptom of some disease at Villa rather than because of his lack of quality in the opinion of those 4 managers then I suppose that's your choice.
