  1. 2012 2.Bundesliga spreadsheet ready to go. Completely underwhelmed by some of the shite in that division Some decent sides there though. Hoping for an immediate return.
  2. If it's out on Lambert then it mustn't even be picked yet for OGS. I fail to see how Lambert could possibly have achieved more than he has in Norwich's 3 seasons. Or to put it another way, what are you waiting for Lambert to do with Norwich before the jury makes it's decision? It seems that you just don't like the guy. Be it his demeanour or whatever. Because his record speaks for itself.
  3. What he has done with Norwich over 3 seasons would suggest he is an extremely vibrant manager. We're not hiring him to do stand-up comedy.
  4. In addition to Stewie's excellent summary there is the timing and availability of managers. Something completely outside of Villa's control. Martinez gave Whelan one more season. He's not under the same level of obligation to do it again this year and the fact he was allowed to talk to Liverpool suggests Whelan has accepted he will (or at least can) move. Lambert has done most if not all of what he set out to do with Norwich. Not only get them up, but comfortably keep them up. It is not unreasonable for him to request the opportunity to progress his career with a bigger club. And finally, Solskjaer, who has had his first full season away from Man Utd and who has been very successful with it. If you add in the fact that the person who follows McLeish has a much easier job of making the fans happy, then Villa for a variety of reasons become more attractive to a manager despite coming off a poor season. And the marketplace itself is a lot more attractive than last season's poor selection.
  5. I'd have watched it a lot sooner if it had been called 'Kunis and Portman get jiggy'.
  6. The biggest risk with Martinez is the amount of work needed in order to get us playing his way. There would probably be a considerable period of re-adjustment in order to come around to his way of thinking. If that period became too long and we suffered badly in the interim then it might end in disaster. Though if it did work it would be great. So yeah I see him as a bigger risk than Ole or Lambert, but I would still be happy with any of the 3. Martinez probably 3rd of the 3 though.
  7. JJ Abrams needs to up his game. He's in danger of becoming a parody of himself. His films are all a variation on a theme and his penchant for treating his audiences with contempt (w.r.t. 'reveals') is becoming tiring.
  8. I also just watched my 'worst film of the year'. Super 8.
  9. And thank you thetrees. You've made this all a lot of fun
  10. And Mat (are you reading Mat? ) has been deafening with his silence other than that
  11. I think this is definitely the most sensible course of action at 5:20 on a Friday evening
  12. Have to say I hope that's the case. It's exactly my take on it too. You play it down while tying up loose ends. No point whipping everyone into a frenzy and having to leave them hanging while you still have to sort everything out. Best to buy yourself some time with a dismissive 'informal chat' type thing while hoping no-one noticed that the 'respect' you showed involved them sending a private jet over for you so you could say 'maybe' in person.
  13. At a time when Randy is looking for a new manager and has supposedly set aside two weeks in the country in which to find said manager, he jets off home a day after arriving. I think it's more likely that it went along the lines of "will you do it?", "yes I will, just let me sort some stuff in Norway", "good stuff, I'm off back to the land of the free" otherwise why would Randolph leave?
  14. Ole's comment that he wanted to show respect doesn't really tie in with Randy sending a jet over to collect him. I think they're playing it down.
  15. I think the opposite. He would only stay until it was signed, sealed & delivered. He's gone because his work is done IMHO. which is the same as what I posted and not the opposite :-) I was suitably chastised further up the thread. tbf I didn't think the chastising went far enough so I thought I'd repeat it I disagree. I feel the chastising hadn't gone far enough, and ought to have been repeated. Funny f*cker eh?
  16. Based on what? hearing nothing? talk about jumping to conclusions. So, people saying he has signed based on nothing are not jumping to conclusions where-as I, seeing Villa without a manager and no announcement decide it might not happen and I am jumping to conclusions..? :? If you wanna play silly buggers then yeah If you don't then villan_007 has a valid point. You say "I actually do not think this is happening now" which implies you did think it was happening before that. The question to you is 'what has changed or what has happened in order to change your mind?'. That's why you are jumping to conclusions. Despite nothing happening, you've gone from one decision to another. Whereas other people (regardless of what camp they are in), have not changed their mind.
  17. I think the opposite. He would only stay until it was signed, sealed & delivered. He's gone because his work is done IMHO. which is the same as what I posted and not the opposite :-) I was suitably chastised further up the thread.
  18. I think they're only behind for as long as it takes them to read VT and plagiarise what's here
  19. I think the opposite. He would only stay until it was signed, sealed & delivered. He's gone because his work is done IMHO. That's what he said. You are right. I'm totally blaming the fact it's Friday evening.
