  1. Not gonna happen but i'm gonna say it again anyway....... Ryan Shawcross for cash plus Ireland. (Hughes being the only manager to ever get anything out of Ireland)
  2. Stam was allowed to show those abilities because he had solid players around him and was able to get on with his own job. IMO we have a lot more to come from Vlaar.
  3. I think Vlaar is potentially a lot better than we have seen so far. It cant be easy when you are stretched all over your half of the pitch because your fellow defenders and the midfield in front of you are not holding their own positions. We had too much inexperience and our midfield was too weak last season so it all came on top for Vlaar when he was fit. Hopefully he can concentrate on his job now that the others have gained a bit from last year plus he has the new support that has arrived. IMO he could be the next Jaap Stam.
  4. According to SSN Newcastle have given up on Gomis after their latest bid was rejected so hopefully they will step up their interest in Bent.
  5. Whilst I agree with that, those players can not play every game so we need to be able to mix it up otherwise we will get found out. We need other options and an AM would give us that.
  6. I'm sure we could stretch to 40. Plus if we sent Ireland in part exchange I expect RL would be happy. I got his wages from wiki.
  7. I said it back in January and I said it a few weeks ago on this thread but I will say it again.... Ryan Shawcross. 6'3", 25 years old, lives down the road, prem experience, currently on 30k, nuff said.
  8. Sometimes I like girls with their bum showing: (_ _) But other times I like to see girls wearing a thong: ( ̄▽ ̄) Well we can all stop trying to think of funny translations now as this cant be beat. Pure quality my friend!
  9. Alan Hutton to make Mallorca move permanent staff reporter Tuesday 23 July 2013 Alan Hutton is today expected to sign a permanent contract with Real Mallorca, having negotiated his release from Aston Villa. The Scotland full-back enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Palma club last season, and was eager to return, even though his side were relegated from the Spanish top tier. Hutton still had a year to run on his Villa contract, but was told by manager Paul Lambert he was free to leave, his career having stalled somewhat since Tottenham Hotspur spent £9m to sign him from Rangers in 2008. He has, however, found both form and contentment in Spain. "I was able to play football and enjoy it – it's the first time I've been able to say that in a while," he said. "I don't know how to explain it. I had a few bad years so just to enjoy my football again was really good. It's a lot calmer." Another Scotland internationalist keen to get his career back on track is Christophe Berra, who has signed a two-year contract with Ipswich Town. The centre-back was released by Wolverhampton Wanderers following consecutive relegations but manager Mick McCarthy moved to take him to Portman Road. "It's a fantastic signing, he helped
us get promoted at Wolves and keep us in the Premier League for two seasons," said McCarthy. "I'm surprised he hasn't got a club sooner and I'm delighted we've got him. It's terrific. I've signed
what I'd call a top Championship centre-half." http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/alan-hutton-to-make-mallorca-move-permanent.21681635 We're not going to know whats going on until the deal is done.
  10. Its a world cup year and he is in competition with Lukaku for the Belgian squad so I think he will be trying hard this season. Also, he will want to put himself in the shop window to save the embarrasment of zero offers coming in next time he hands in a transfer request.
  11. If Newcastle really want Bent they could well be pressured into making a bid sooner than planned due to the benteke business as they could be thinking we may need to keep him so they'd want to get the deal done before benteke goes anywhere. Could work in our favour.
  12. Got done for kidnapping dale stephens trying to win an argument.
  13. I like the one where the guy gets up from the conference table, walks over to the window and just jumps straight out of it. class!
  14. Wes needs to be PL's head scout and adviser, the man is mustard. End of.
  15. Younes Behlanda is set to reveal where he will be playing his football next season with reports claiming he is to choose between England and the Middle East. Montpellier revealed earlier this month that they had offers from AC Milan, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray and Aston Villa for the Moroccan international. But now it is claimed that the club have accepted offers from two clubs - with reports suggesting it is Villa and a new option in the shape of Abu Dhabi club Al Jazira. "My decision is imminent, I have still got the time to think a bit but I will stand by the decision I will take," 23-year-old Belhanda said. "I wanted to play in the Premier League, I have the opportunity so let's see." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/8796035/Transfer-News-Reports-claim-Younes-Belhanda-to-decide-between-England-and-Abu-Dhabi
  16. Cant wait till the transfer window opens. I wonder who we're gonna buy/sell this July :-)
  17. Nobody said he only makes good signings. They said he makes a lot of good signings and If some dont work out then so be it but at least they are cheap and on low wages so we wont have an ireland situation on our hands again. That is why we have faith in his dealings. So we now have faith in Lambert's signings due to being cheap. Excellent stuff! No. if you read what i wrote instead of picking out the bits you think you can beat in a debate you will realise that i said that we have faith because he makes a lot of good signings and the bad ones do not cause a great deal of harm to the clubs finances.

  20. Bristol City have signed Republic of Ireland Under-21 defender Derrick Williams from Aston Villa. The versatile defender, who can play at centre-half or left-back, joins the League One club on a three-year deal. Williams made his senior Villa debut last season and, according to his new club's website, he turned down a new deal in favour of a move. "I needed to take this step," he told the Villa website. "I hope it's the right decision. "I want to make a career for myself and I'm grateful for the great start I've been given by Aston Villa and coming through the Villa Academy. "Bristol City were interested and it's a big club. I'm looking forward to the challenge. "I have no issues dropping down to League One. The club's aim is to bounce back stronger and it's a great goal to have." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12691/8791013/Transfer-news-Bristol-City-sign-defender-Derrick-Williams-from-Bristol-City
