  1. So, .............if gravity acts on all objects equally. Then why do I weigh more on the scales than my gf? confused.com
  2. We're a couple of class full backs and a class striker or midfielder short of being genuine 4th place contenders. As it stands, 6th or 7th. That view might change, I'll see who comes and goes in the window. Edit - Just to add, it's MON who's got us to this point. Could be a little bit more entertaining but all in all, not a bad job at all. Guess it makes it all the more strange that I have that voice in the back of my head saying MON's tactics are too antiquated to take us any higher....
  3. Trade for sex like a pro.
  4. making up for lost time - the plimsouls *NB check out other bands on that label, gotta be one of the coolest labels around, some really terrific bands.
  5. All things considered, he's spent a fair bit, we're not overachieving, but we're not underachieving either. He's doing a good job and laying solid foundations, my only gripe, I wish we were a bit more entertaining. This summer we need to keep hold of our star men and add more quality, first and foremost. Going back to the entertainment gripe, I don't mind how we do it, if we win trophies I'm happy. However, purely as a spectator, next season I'd like us to work on our general play. It might sound crass, but I don't mind being the runners up so much, (as we have been this season) if we do it in style. But if we're going to be the perpetual nearly men, give me something to take from it, entertainment! I understand that's purely a subjective view. That kinda touches upon how I feel, there's so many if's and but's but I'm generally happy and appreciate we have a very competent manager, I'll leave it at that.
  6. I wonder whether we'd have had these silly wars had there been a lib lab government during the last 13 years.
  7. Paxman, socialist I believe, Flanders leftie, your correct on the rest.
  8. He has a long term vision for the club, creating a core of young, hungry players. He demands a lot from them and they give it him week in week out. He's teaching the players who will be the foundation for years to come that it takes dedication hard work and commitment to win. ALL the best clubs have that spirit he's instilling. However, there does seem to be one ingredient missing from his Villa creation so far. Artistry, freedom of expression, creativity, the beautiful side of the game but also as vital as any to winning at the highest levels. 80%
  9. Friedel 7 Only beaten by 3 great finishes. L Young 7 Steady Dunne 7 Solid Cuellar 7 Dependable Warnock 7 Steady Downing 5 Poor, looked slow. A Young 6 Was the most lively midfielder Milner 5 Lacked his usual spark Petrov 5 Very average gabby 6 Nearly scored, caused problems with his pace. Heskey 5 Worked tirelessly, but was no threat to them in an attacking sense Carew 5 Didn't make an impact Delph 5 More meat on a spiders leg.
  10. Only he knows how long he wants to keep working for and what he wants to achieve, I see no point whatsoever in speculating.
  11. Smash and grab, a great defensive performance a well taken goal. Only minus, our passing in the second half. Other than that brilliant. I'm not one to complain about refs, but today he let a few united fouls go. Dunne MOTM.
  12. I'd like Lennon, I recon he's pretty good, not better than anything we already have mind. Redknapp is doing well and Spurs shaping up to be one of our main rivals in the league. I'm not surprised, for all his faults I think Redknapp's one of the better managers in the league. That said, I better get out of here before I get roasted, this clearly aint the place for rational grown up discussion. I'll let you kids get on with the playground squabble and make for the exit.
  13. Lib dems, best of a bad bunch, they have been for a long time. I'm probably closer to the Green party, but if voting Lib dems is a waste of energy the Greens are off the scale. Of course the Tories will win and groundhog day will ensue.
  14. so youre saying you cant possibly hit a woman out of self defence, that its just someone taking pleasure out of it? thats kinda **** up tbh No I'm not. If you quoted the first part you'll see I said, hitting women is wrong except under the most extenuating circumstances. I think it would be unusual to get into a situation where hitting a woman is the only option, but I agree it could happen.
  15. I've got to 30 without hitting anybody, and I really hope I'll never have to resort to violence. I do have a temper so I might just snap one day if pushed. But it's cowardly to hit a woman in nearly every but the most extenuating circumstance. If I hit a man I know it would probably be out of fear or self defence, if so I can justify that in my mind. But if I hit a woman it would most almost certainly be for my own twisted pleasure 'you've pushed me, take that'. That moment of pleasure would quickly turn to guilt.
  16. Excellent performance. We know we have this kind of performance in us, but we do need to play to this level more consistently.
  17. The fact is MON has got us to 6th, DOL done that with argubly a weaker squad. Surely we should all be expecting to move foward? and to be honest I really can't see us doing that playing the football we are. What's arguable about that? That squads achievements are underplayed somewhat, it was a mid-table squad. I recon DOL earned his money that season, he often got his tactics spot on and we picked up the points. It's gonna take a similar kind of effort from the players and some astute tactical management to emulate that. This squad, MON has built, COULD, finish top 4. I don't expect it, but we really need to start beating the Wolves, Spams and Wigans if we're going to do it. Since MON took over we seem to be performing to expected levels, all things considered. We're not underachieving but thus far we've not over reached ourselves either.
  18. The obsession people have with that man and team on here is frankly embarrassing now. Well, embarrassing for them that is, just bloody boring for the rest of us.
