    I wouldn't accept Defoe at any price. Wages £70k a week on 4 year contract, that's £14,56m. He is 30 years old and has injury problems. It's a Levy special. We give them Benteke, they give us Defoe free and pay for his contract for 4 years, after which they sell Benteke for £60m and we have nothing. They must think Villa is run by idiots. I wouldn't either but we took Stephen Ireland in the Milner dear so we have history in getting the mick taken out of us by other clubs. Saying that can't see PL agreeing to take an ageing striker on big money like you said.

    Don't value Defoe any more than Bent, i'd say he's worth about 8 million. So i'd say they would have to offer 25 million + Defoe which still does not sound that appealing.

    He runs round like a headless chicken. Can't remember what game it was but he cost us a goal from just running around aimlessly instead of tracking an opponent down. I'd keep one of either him or KEA though we can't afford to get rid of too many players, however poor they may be.

    I've gone for the ambitious Dortmund 1-0 at HT with them winning 2-1 at FT at 40/1. Fancy Dortmund after those 2 goals in injury time it just feels like luck is on their side.

    He was asked about selling Benteke and he said that no player is bigger than the jersey, he wants people to play for the shirt and for the fans. Never said he's not for sale.

    Where do you want me to start? Us finishing higher up the table? Us showing some ambition? Him almost certainly commanding a higher fee next summer? I could go on. Why delay the inevitable? It's not a case of ambition, the whole footballing world knows he will not stick around with us for a long time. Do not see the point in keeping somebody at the club who will leave within 12 months. When we could use the cash to strengthen other key areas in the squad and the scouts can look for a replacement for Benteke.

    Might as well sell him this summer then if he's going to leave in the next year. Why delay finding his replacement for a year?

    Would have took 15th in a heartbeat after the humiliating festive period. What's frustrating is that we have played good football and if we had a little bit more experience in seeing games out we'd be top half. The last minute goals against Swansea, Everton & throwing 2 goal leads away against Albion and United. All points that were thrown away. Can't say I've enjoyed the season. Praying for a comfortable campaign next time round and to be safe before the second to last game.

    I feel like I can barely breathe. At 40 minutes I thought we were doomed. Well done Lambert for the half time team talk. Guzan world class again, all strikers on the score sheet. So pleased.
