  1. Whats wrong with that? I'd love both of them. I think Murphy would be good for the first team and Clayton a pretty good backup to bring through who could be very good.
  2. Good enough to be playing in the champions league. Would be very surprised if he chose us. Im also questioning the validity of these quotes because he's a quality player and not one I would have ever expected us to have been in for. Yes Please.
  3. Bullshit merchants out in full force tonight. From the comments section at AVillaFan.com Wouldn't have posted but I think Benteke going abroad would be the best out come of us selling him. £23m wouldn't be enough. And definitely not before the window is officially open. Could easily push for another £5-8m if a bid of £23m was to be put in already.
  4. 'My mate, who works at BHX, stationed just outside of customs, who also happens to be an avid Ekstraklasa watcher glimpsed somebody and it was definitely Tonev'. Colour me sceptical
  5. No thanks. Signings like this can go either way. Yes they cab be great or they can be not so great. I think id rather spend extra money and sign some players who are definitely going to perform well for us. Because thats worked so well for us in the past. PLease. Lets go sign more Ireland, Dunne, Given, Hutton and Warnocks. At least we know 100% theyll never let us down. /S
  6. Dont think he likes Carruthers, who I think will be off. Would like him to stay and get a chance but I'm not sure if Carruthers has the right attitude for him. Hopefully I'm wrong. I think Graham, Grealish, Robinson and Gardner will get some game time next season. Think Johnson, Williams, Stieber and maybe a couple of others will go on loan. Delfouneso again?
  7. Im all for a crazy away kit I just have never liked that 4 Quarters type design on football shirts. I may feel different when I see it in person. I'd have liked to have continued the theme of this years away kit and choosing a really bizarre colour. I'd have quite liked a bright pink away shirt in all honesty
  8. No chance, cant afford him and what would be the point to Benteke in going there? He's good enough to go to a club in the Champions League, or at worst a club who has a realistic chance of closesly competing for the top 4. Liverpool simply wont be.
  9. Home kit: Yes please. (Assuming it is a nice fit this time) Away kit: Kill it with fire.
  10. For backup to Lowton we should just go and sign a couple of youngsters from Southampton/Crystal Palace/Sheffield United for whichever wide player/fullback they are bringing through next. **** Hutton off for a packet of crisps or possibly a handful of pebbles?
  11. Theres some kind of argument between Laudrup and the Swanse hierarchy over their scouting. Only briefly read on the Swans forum about it, sounds as though Swansea have a set scouting system regardless of who is manager (which has done them well so far!) which mostly scouts the UK. I guess, similar to Lambert, picking up younger, cheaper technical players. Laudrup disagree's and would rather spend time scouting the likes of La Liga to try and find the next Michu. So Con was basically jumping on this and suggesting that Laudrup would accept this scouting report due to the undeniable 'future world class talent' that is Barry 'Iniesta' Bannan.
  12. I too have been reading the 'Con goes to Wales' Barry Bannan thread at PlanetSwans Best bits (From Con, now called 'BannanInfo') The ONLY British player Laudrup would be happy to have his scouts scout.
  13. Nope, none. He's away with his mates so it is more than likely just summat stupid rather than football / Villa related. Derrick Williams @DerickWilliams_ Gutted #oneofthemdays Derrick Williams @DerickWilliams_ F#ck sake
  14. That's why I said earlier, the club can't just do nothing. They should : A. Say he's NOT FOR SALE. B. slap a £50m price tag on him , or higher. Whats C? The Sun
  15. May or may not be football related but Derrick Williams isnt very happy on twitter
  16. Have to applaud Con for repeatedly getting you all hook, line and sinker.
  17. All agents are but from what I've seen CB's isnt anywhere near as bad as he could be
  18. I dont really see how anybody can say no to this guy based on the league he comes from. Nobody really knows what the day-to-day quality of the Ekstraklasa is like. Westwood was playing in League 2 team that just (literally just, finished 7th) managed to scrape into the L2 playoffs. Playing vs teams such as Barnet and Macclesfield Lowton was playing against the likes of Chesterfield, Rochdale and Colchester in League 1. Sylla left his team Clermont Foot in January who finished in the dizzying heights of 14th in Ligue 2, whose opposition included Chamois Niortais and FC Istres. On the other hand, Tonev, who yes probably plays against some tripe a lot of the time, plays for Poznan who have been pretty consistently in the Europa League and have played against the likes of Man City and Juventus* *Full disclosure: I dont know if Tonev played or not** but still the point stands. Surely Lambert deserves the trust to go to an utterly cack league and pull out a player. 3 of our best players last season were pulled from inferior leagues in League 1, 2 and the Jupiler. **Edit: He did not.
  19. How about Harry McGuire from Sheffield United? He's not very fast so not entirely sure he would make the step up to the prem, especially with our defence being slow as it is, bu Sheffield United have absolutely no money to spend at all and there were a few rumours about a bid from Sheff Wednesday for as low as £900k. He's been touted about in the £3m bracket but I think thats mostly paper inflation (similar to £3m Lowton who was more £900k). We could even try going lower than that supposed £900k bid and then loaning both him and Derrick Williams (They need a CB, and as previously mentioned, have no money plus Williams isn't exactly first in line here and it may help him find a club moving into the Championship?) back out to them for next season? He made the League 1 team of the year in both of the last 2 seasons and has a fantastic mentality, even if that same mentality may mean he would refuse to leave, money for his club + a loan back may convince him though? At 20 he'd be one for the future, see if he makes it and if not at circa £1m we couldnt exactly lose money on him
  20. He'd be a great signing. But no selling him on for 20m+ in a few years would be the most likely outcome of us buying him. I cant see us getting him, but the thought of a home grown midfield in 3 years or so of: Westwood Gardner Graham Grealish Hughes Would be **** superb. Heck, could go the whole way and say: Lowton ??? Baker Cresswell Westwood Gardner Graham Grealish Hughes ??? would be quite a statement of home-grown players. But I think i've gotten a little carried away
