  1. Given, good player, wants to move, will take a pay cut to leave and the fee will be very small. Easiest of the lot imo. Then Ireland, rumours a while back he had already got something lined up in the MLS, but he'll haggle over wages, us paying him off, us continuing to pay some of his wages etc. Bannan, Williams, Delfouneso, Stevens then. Somewhere in late July/Early August Bent will go after a couple of teams back out over his wage demands and we eventually pay him off.
  2. This is the dawning of the age of Helenius. HEEELEEEENIUSSSSSSSSSS
  3. I did mean to suggest a 4 year contract when I said I understoof 5/6 years was too long. 3 just seems to be setting ourselves up for failure imo.
  4. Whats with all these 3 year contracts? 1 year to settle in, 1 good year and suddenly we have no choice but to sell. I understand he could just as easily be crap and thus save us a lot of money on a 5 or 6 year contract, but on what is likely 20k a week if not less we would barely be losing a thing on him. Same goes for Baker and Weimann
  5. The grass isnt always greener
  6. For those moaning about Luna (without seeing him play) because he was third choice at Seville and got relegated.. Seville are chasing for the Champions League and Luna joined Mallorca on loan in January to help them out as they were looking so poor.... Kind of like Spurs when Kyle Walker came here as he was third choice behind Corluka and Hutton when Spurs were chasing Champions League and we were in the bottom 3 in January so we signed him on loan. For those not wanting Luna because of the above reasons, had we not signed Bent that January too and had gone down would that mean Walker is also not good enough or would it just mean that it was too late for a young attacking fullback to join an awful team in January and somehow save the club?
  7. Bacuna has said he wants to play CM. So I imagine we'll see him rotating with Gardner in some capacity as it sounds as though they try to play similarly. ALthough I agree on the plan B. But think it will be Bowery and Tonev instead. And hopefully a couple of chances for a couple from Grealish, Graham, Robinson and Burke in the cups maybe
  8. No thanks. Hes an alright player but Hes scarily slow.
  9. We'll be trying to find the next Vydra if anything.
  10. On the subject of Grealish, he signed a 3 year contract this month last year. Hopefully its an extension he's talking about, as next year he will only have one year left (3 year contracts are crap, why we've accepted Baker and Weimann on them still bizarres me). A nice new 5/6 year contract ending in 18/19 will do nicely.
  11. Crowley is the player that Con thinks Bannan is.
  12. I was trying to figure out how to tag him in the post but couldnt work it out haha
  13. Jack Grealish @JackGrealish1 Been a long but successful day, meetings all over the place lol, just need to have a think of what I want! Ahhhh!!! These meetings had better be either 1) choosing between England and Ireland or 2) Just how many years extra he wants to sign with us for or 3) a loan move maybe? 4) not football related because I'd be immensely dissappointed if we lost Grealish aswell as Crowley
  14. Yeah that last one is really Driving me insane.
  15. Saw this yesterday, lol'd. https://twitter.com/HarrySilk/status/346232196459286528/photo/1
  16. With Luna signing our squad is really going through a sea-change
  17. Martin Krag @martinkrag New Aston Villa signing Jores Okore fell asleep during the medical when he had to be in a MRI scanner for 2 hours. #avfc Martin Krag @martinkrag Jores Okore will, however, not loose sleep over his finances as he has gone from earning £6k/month to £25k/week. #avfc Asked how he got the info the tweeter said "Interview in Danish newspaper"
  18. Gary Linton @AlbaEspana Alan Hutton has said he's leaving Aston Villa '1 million percent' and would like to return to Spain. But it's likely not to be with Mallorca Gary Linton @AlbaEspana Alan Hutton: "In Spain, I was able to play football and enjoy it - it's the first time I've been able to say that in a while. Gary Linton @AlbaEspana Alan Hutton: I would love to go back, “The highlights? Playing in the Bernabeu, or at the Nou Camp and at Atletico Madrid.”
  19. Edit: Nvm, decided to post in the Bennett thread
  20. Thats what hes saying we think. That we shouldnt be offering him Bent type wages. And obviously we wont offer him that. He'lL be lucky to get Dunne/Collins wages imo.
  21. He said 'He hopes for Villa' we arent going to give him a Bent wage. I assume, as in, Bent is on a ridiculous sum of money (supposedly a fair bit more than the 60-70k that often gets mentioned on here) so he's saying for our sakes not to offer him that. Which we wont. We'll offer 40, he'll reject, we'll offer 50, he'll reject and then we'll refuse to do anything and he'll eventually sign at 50k I hope.
  22. I really cannot see it. Another £5m for me. At a push another £10m to sign a 'marquee' player. But I think the days of spending £25m in one window are gone. I like the route we're taking. I'd love a stand-out AM for circa £12m that still fits the 'young and hungry' philosophy mind but I really dont think it will happen.
