  1. You've got to be kidding. He kicks people and slows the game down. Not what we want when we are chasing wins. I hope that winning without him means he'll be on the bench for the rest of the season. He should be coming on to close out games when we are ahead. Compare Delph's game with our other CMs... Who is better? He gets stuck in, he is keeping the ball well, his passing has been good and he has began driving forwards more and more. If he incorporated some goals into his game and was a bit more direct I think he would be a really good payer.
  2. Our best midfielder for me. Been very impressed with him recently.
  3. Completely agree. Brilliant football player who will play at the very top within the next few years.
  4. 16 goals in a struggling side is a bloody good return. 9 games to go - reckon he can break the 20 goal barrier! Its not just his goals, but his sheer presence. He holds the ball up so well and wins everything in the air. Hard to believe he is only 22.
  5. Another goal! How many for the season is that now? Absolutely bossed the Reading defence. Need him to be up for every single game to keep us in the hunt for survival! IF we stay up I bloody hope we can keep him for one more year. Absolutely class. (Also scored our 1000th premier league didn't he?)
  6. I just cannot understand why he turned back on himself. Forget blaming the strikers for not giving him an option. He had Dzeko up his arse - get **** rid. Absolute basics. For me he is not a premier league centre half.
  7. All that hard work undone by a ridiculous error. Simply cannot afford stupid mistakes of that magnitude.
  8. Jeez. How can you even compare these two? Weimann has taken his chance whereas Delfouneso repeatedly proved himself as not good enough. Absolute rubbish.
  9. N'Zogbia has been very very poor. However, we are giving a good account here and anything could happen if the game carries on in this manner.
  10. Bennett tackles himself. Ridiculous that he ever made it pro.
  11. Great. This Bennett is absolute shite. I was wishfully thinking we might nick a point - not with this idiot playing. Think we are going to get well and truly hammered. Hope Vlaar isn't set for another lengthly spell out.
  12. Former Aston Villa defender Paul McGrath on Twitter: "Brilliant win for Villa, onwards and upwards now."
  13. Get in!!!! Absolutely massive. Hopefully the last couple of games has given us some belief to kick on and pick another couple of wins up. 5 more wins are needed. Thought Delph was brilliant today. He puts a foot in and is full of energy. Baker was class. Clark was much improved today. This keeps us alive. Anything other than 3 points and I think it would have been curtains.
  14. This guy will run the **** gauntlet if he **** us over.
  15. Absolutely bricking it! Thankfully live in the city centre so have been to work and can still get to the ground in time. Absolutely buzzing!! No idea what to expect! A bit of bloody passion would be a start!
  16. There has been no response what so ever this season. We are getting worse!
  17. Awful awful defending but what a **** dive. Absolute cheat. Disgrace.
  18. A player needs to be able to tackle and make interceptions. If either are lacking then the player is weaker for it. You can have a mixture of different qualities as a centre half. I would hope to see Clark develop the basics of the defensive side of his game to accompany the more 'cultured' side to his game. As it is, being able to pass the ball along the back line is not the makings of a good centre half.
  19. Bennett and Given not even in the squad? I worry about that defence. Hopefully Vlaar is fit to start next week!
  20. Firstly, I justify my claim that Clark is weak through watching him play. Through you stating that he wins 60% of aerial battles has emphasised my point! He is not commanding enough. I really do not get what you are trying to say about him being a 'play-making' centre half. I would much rather a defender who can defend first and foremost. On the deck - I am not denying that he is capable, or at least more capable on the ball than other defenders, but you rarely see him make crunching tackles - such as Baker. All defenders can be caught out of position, no player is infallible. However, Clark is caught out of position on a number of occasions. Play often bypasses him because of his poor aerial ability and because I do not think he is commanding enough to consistently go in and win the first ball. Ultimately, I think Clark has failed to quite live up to the promise made about him. He is an average defender, who might be better than average alongside another more commanding centre half. But it cannot be denied that Clark, along with the rest of the defence, is strongly accountable for our recent form.
