  1. I think the pundits are told, what bias to apply....else no future gigs.
  2. I think the Arsenal game....showed we can play with a savvy appreciation of defensive work. It was a canny display. I was taken aback, at some of the performances from essentially attacking players. I think if we don't play like that in future games, it's out of choice, because we've showed we can.
  3. I agree. I thought they won more duels, than normal. I read somewhere, that Unai told them to be brave and not worry about errors....I think it showed as you say.
  4. I don't profess to, and don't want to....I have no interest in gambling. It was just a throw away comment.
  5. it's just going to be a tough game for both sides. I don't think anyone can read anything in to it, with certainty.....it's all on the day. I do think whoever wins this, has a very good chance to go all the way.
  6. Its like......Villa beat Arsenal, so Arsenal can't win the Title.....absolute Bolleaux...some of the junk flying around is laughable. Its like Arsenals stock has dropped, losing to us.......This is a team that has lost 2 home games all season.
  7. I think the game showed why the bookies are rich. No game in this league is a dead rubber....it's all on the day. Arsenal fans were complaining that we was winning all the duels in the second half....we was, but it hasn't always been like that, in every game....particularly recently. We showed many qualities on the day, many of us have been searching for....and it's a delight, when we see them. We have to try and bring some of that to France, and if we do, we have a real chance to progress....but it's hard. These games are not easy.
  8. that's a strength and how it should be....Its a shame sections of the media, struggled with it. Folk saying the title is all over, is rubbish. I hope they win it, then we can say, we got the double over the champions.....with 2 clean sheets.
  9. No you, you are not reading too much in to it.....you are right. They ( media) just crave headlines, irrespective of the truth....and we are not headlines, unless it's something derogatory....If the owners were selling, we would get attention. We just have to do, what we did yesterday....and to hell with them. They don't report on games, they just paint pictures, to suit their narrative.....it won't change, you can't force folk to like you.....and we can't make folk, feel about our club, like we do. It even shows with the likes of Dion Dublin and Paul Merson, as random examples, how the producers, just get them to say, what they want......To listen to Dion, you would think he played most of his career with Man U instead of 12 games. It quite remarkable, really when he played 155 for us. Most folk in the media see us as a mild irritation, and since we have had a manager, that can challenge the status quo, they try to ignore us.
  10. It's like an Auschwitz guard saying the captives are ungrateful.....they treated him badly, he gave them enough time and after no sign of change, eventually left. Arsenal fans are in denial, how poorly he was treated. He has been given a good home, and he is happy.......what is there not to like?
  11. His vision, is his forte...but has good feet too....classy player. should get some rest time, when the injuries subside.
  12. just like the one to Lukaku. what a signing.
  13. I think Unia condensed it all in to one narrative.....Consistency. Aston Villa on their day, can beat anyone....the task Unai has is consistency....and he knows better than anyone, that is his pursuit.
  14. I accept that sheepy.....but it's all about consistency. consistency in individual players and also collectively. Unai has been quick to remind us of that....and what his work in progress entails. When we produce a display like that, and in contrast the one against Spurs.....it shows what the manager has as a task in front of him...He knows what he has to do, to improve us.
  15. I saw things in that game, I didn't think we had in us, with that line -up, especially. I love being in that club....when Villa show me, they do have it in them.....I now know what Unai was saying about consistency, He mentioned it several times after the match. I don't think Dougie being missing, was an issue.....I think all players being at it, on the same day, was a huge reason, and that was on the back of Unai's gameplan and demands to be brave, and not worry about errors.
  16. They get paid a lot of money, for that biased Crap....then you get Merson, who you would think never played for Villa, where he possibly played his best football and revered by the fans of the day. They are obviously told by the producers what line to pursue.....its just typical of the organisation/ Media, as a whole....they are like the "thought police" controlling the narrative. We pay for all that.
  17. 100% They can **** right off...trying to discredit us. The Media...................................................next. I wouldn't believe them if they said it was daytime, in on a sunny afternoon.
  18. when they play like that in most games....I get the narrative of supporting players, when they are struggling......and on those displays, they deserve to be, supported, but a great game, does not negate a bad one....they are separate performances. but folk can only, comment on what they see during a game......good or bad. because a player, has a great game....it doesn't mean the last bad one, is/ has to be negated.....Unai talks constantly about consistency, and that is his main pursuit. We can only say what we see.
  19. Drug test? I mean who could play that well
  20. watch it with a partner, you won't need Viagra.....Youri couldn't wait until he got home.
  21. Emi said he loves Arsenal, he has friends there.....But Emi loves everybody and everything....that's Emi. No doubt that will be a headline somewhere.
  22. No....You do know about football......but performances vary, and they are human and individuals in a team of 11 have good days and bads days....and that also varies in numbers.....11 were at it yesterday, all on the same page. This is a good day......Consistency, is what separates the chaff from the wheat...Unai emphasised that, that's what he is working on. We was all at it.....ALL of us. some say fans are fickle, they are not necessarily, the football performances are.....but hey ho......great day for us.
