  1. I'm surprised he didn't walk. He's not had the financial backing to compete at this level, and they're so short on strikers it's amazing they've managed to score a goal all season. If he'd have given up on his pet project Balotelli they'd have let him get RvP in, I'm sure. But even for a club like them Tevez, Dzeko, Aguero, Guidetti, van Persie and Balotelli is far too many. From the way I heard it RvP always wanted to go to Old Trafford anyway.
  2. It's always been naughty there with the home fans next to the away fans behind the goal. I remember when we were going for 4th place with them (seems like ages ago!) and Carew put us in front. We had bottles, coins and all sorts of shit coming at us from both sides and above.
  3. Try living up here surrounded by City fans.
  4. How's Tevez not got a second yellow today? And I thought ref's were under Fergie's spell? City got every decision today.
  5. Such is my dislike for Manchester City I'm as nervous as if I was watching the Villa here.
  6. That in itself is the kind of line spoken by racists.
  7. Load of crap. The only winners will be UEFA and the airlines. Loads more local sponsors to sit in tier 2 under the central group - adidas, Hyundai, Coca Cola, Mastercard etc and more chance of full stadia as the market won't be as saturated with tickets. They might as well start calling it Moneyball and have done with it.
  8. Been nice knowing you Damo!
  9. That's got the making of a good thread - Big news through the eyes of local news!
  10. I might be if they hadn't gone from strength to strength whilst he was there too.
  11. I think the key thing here is that Ridge isn't ACTUALLY wiping his arse. He's pretending to.
  12. Unfortunate pic of the day: So this is Liam Ridgewell wiping his arse with £20 notes today at 10:42 am Did Liam Ridgewell never think for a second that this photo would somehow come back to haunt him in some way? The West Brom defender is going to have an awful lot of explaining to do after The Sun published a photo in this morning’s paper of Ridgewell wiping his behind with a fistful of £20 notes, with another handful of them scattered around his bathroom floor. Pic via The Sun It was sent into the red-top by a West Brom fan who unsurprisingly asked not to be named, but it’s fair to say that Ridgewell will have a good idea of who took the photo in the first place before it eventually ended up in the public domain. Who took the photo is not the issue here, of course, more that Ridgewell, who reportedly earns £20,000 a week, was stupid enough to have it taken in the first place and on becoming aware of it going public, he hastily apologised. “The photo was taken in the privacy of my home around eight months ago as a joke to wind up a mate, who I had just won a personal bet with,” Ridgewell said. “I only intended him to see the photo but now it’s public, I can understand how it will be viewed. I am sorry for any offence it causes.” A West Brom spokesman added: “This is a private issue for Liam that has become public. “It does not put the club in a good light and we will deal with the matter internally. Since Liam joined us 11 months ago, his conduct on club duty has been exemplary.” According to The Sun, a number of West Brom fans got wind – pardon the unfortunate pun – of the photo yesterday and were understandably not impressed that a player who they pay good money to go and see and who earns more in a week than many of them would in a year would flaunt it in such a disgusting manner. It’s a picture that sums up what a lot of people think is wrong with modern day football and the players that play the game – i.e. that they have more money than sense – and it’s safe to say that Ridgewell won’t be able to flush this image from his memory for quite some time. Talk about making an ass of himself. http://www.joe.ie/fo...notes-0031105-1
  13. If you think I am then you're probably right Seriously though, I've been reading that we should've beaten QPR because they're the worst team in the league. That's simply not true. They're having a bad season, but they've got the likes of SWP, Cissé, Granero, Julio Cesar they can call upon. Luke Young would still get into our matchday squad and he's not even in their 25. Sure they're bottom of the league but that's no more representative of their quality than WBA being 3rd. They'll start picking up some wins in the coming weeks and this will look like a good point.
  14. So people aren't happy because our team, consisting largely of players from the lower leagues and the youth team, "only" managed a draw against a team made up of players who previously played for the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal in their first home game under an iconic manager who has previously won every first home game of every club he's ever managed? Perhaps O'Leary was right. I **** despair of Villa fans sometimes.
  15. Your ratings and reactions please. Keep it respectful even if you know everyone else is wrong.
  16. To be fair to him, he's a reasonable (at best) right back who is playing out of position on the left.
  17. Jump on the tube to Covent Garden or Camden Town. Fill your boots.
