  1. General, I am sure efforts are being made to improve the food and drinks service at Villa Park however, I think one of the big problems is the attitude of some of the staff. I sit in the upper Trinity and there were large queues just before the game was about to start and the staff were hanging around chatting and taking as much time as possible to serve us and it also took 3 members of staff to serve me a bottle of water and a bottle of diet coke. In future I will buy my drinks before I enter the ground and I am sure many others may do the same. Many thanks Tom
  2. If the rather large assumption in this article were true then I would be in full agreement with the author, however, there is no factual basis for the belief that 45k is our wage limit let alone that Barry has been given this and therefore, I cannot agree with Mr Cross's view.
  3. I understand that we have over 26k but it would be good to get an update from the General!
  4. Hi General, A colleague of mine who sits in the same block at Villa Park as me (Upper Trinity, A4) informed me today that a young male adult attempted to enter this stand wearing a Liverpool away top. He was told to turn it inside out by a steward and keep quiet and he would be allowed in. He agreed and gained entry which is an absolute disgrace. Other than this gripe General, many thanks for your continued efforts in fan communication.
  5. At least 2 defenders, a keeper and a wide midfielder.
  6. Atari Teenage Riot - Destroy 2000 years of culture
  7. Luke is the better player but Gabby could overtake him if he continues to improve.
  8. I agree, the other three positions are more of a priority but we should still look to strengthen here.
  9. I don't think Laursen will be able to play regularly and the jury is still out on whether he is over his injury problems. Therefore, I think a centre back is a potential weakness.
  10. I think we need a central defender too LM. Maybe not for the first team but I would like someone like Curtis Davies plus Young, SWP and Defoe. We wouldn't need anyone else if we got those.
  11. 4 which will be great if they are of the right quality and in the right positions. EDIT This does not include Mandanda as I had forgotten about his potential signing.
  12. General, Would it be possible to poll the Villa fans before implementing a neutral area as I think there may be some resistance based on the fact that at Fulham it is ismply full of away fans and to some extent dampens the home atmosphere. Thanks
  13. Following on from RICO on the food/catering survey issue, my idea is this: In order to cater for the volume of people required, the options and range is limited however, what about a pre match ordering service, particularly for fussy eaters like me (vegetarians/allergies etc....). In this way you can order from a wider menu a few days before the game and pick it up within a certain time window. Thanks
  14. That'll be gravity. It's a card trick actually.
  15. Agreed. I do believe in a "force" of some description but I'm not sure what it is.
  16. I chatted to a mate of mine a while ago about evolution as he was a researching biologist and he asserts that whilst evolution explains some things, there are many gaps in that theory to. My point - all theories have gaps, thats why they aren't facts and I agree that if TRL thinks people should be agnostic because they can't disprove that a god exists then all religious people should be too as scriptures such as those in the Bible really add very little weight to anything.
  17. Tis true Jon. I don't think there is much doubt that Jesus lived but who he was is a completely different matter. If Derren Brown was alive 2035 years ago he would have been hailed as a witch/sorcerer/messiah.
  18. They do indeed and the basis of the way you lead your life will only get you into the Hindu equivalent of heaven. All of the other religions require you to believe and practice theirs. Your last point is pertinent and why I have a problem with the Catholic teachings I was brought up on. On the one hand you are taught that God is all loving and on the other hand you are told that he will send you to hell if you don't do as your told. A loving parent would never condemn their child to enternal pain and suffering. I do believe in there being something else out there, I am just not sure what it is.
  19. I agree with you on this and my research indicated that Hinduism suggests that anyone of any faith can go to "heaven" as long as they lead a virtuous life which is the fundamental teaching which sets it apart from other religions.
  20. Non practicing Catholic, however, I have issues with many Catholic teachings and after much research came to the conclusion that Hinduism best reflects my beliefs and therefore if I were forced to practice a religion, it could well be that.
  21. The Only Truth by Heaven Shall Burn from the cracking album Antigone. Not for the faint hearted but it combines death metal, black metal and metalcore. I love it.
  22. We did? Our interest in Doyle I seem to remember was far more 'confirmed' than any interest in Defoe or Bent. I don't think any of the sources are more credible than the others but on a related issue, I do not rate Doyle at all and would not be excited by his signing.
  23. I imagine that MON probably sees Young as his first choice right sided midfielder whereas perhaps before he saw him in a more advanced position. I would rather us sign a left sided midfielder now given how well Barry played in the middle in the last few games of the season.
  24. Hi General, Following the press release regarding season ticket sales, is it possible to identify how many of the 16k sold are renewals and how many are new purchases please? Thanks
  25. I would love Gudjohnsen, he can cover up front for JC and play as an attacking midfielder when he is not covering up front.
