  1. Sad....yet again money solves the problem. If anything, it just adds further proof (as if there was any doubt) that the FA/PL are a bunch of jokers. They should be much more accountable for their actions or rather inaction!
  2. I read something at the weekend, can't remember where, that should West Ham avoid relegation, the team(s) who get relegated may launch a legal claim against the FA. It won't result in the FA/PL changing their mind but it could lead to them having to pay out huge amounts of damages.
  3. Emana is still an unknown quantity playing in a league where there is a history of players being hit and miss in the premiership. I haven't seen much of Muntari but the fact he is doing well in a top quality league suggests that were we to sign him then Barry would not be playing in a central 2. We won't be looking for players to replace Barry though, we will be looking for players to compliment him. I know it's your opinion on where Maloney plays and believe me there is nothing to "get over". I just know that I am correct as to where Maloney is playing. He also needs to do alot more to make the left side his own next season as Barry is still a much bigger influence on the pitch than Maloney.
  4. I agree, every player should have to work hard and perform consistently in order to keep their place. I know Barry will do that however, if we could sign Robben, Alonso and Gattuso then I would happily drop Barry! :winkold: Oh and Maloney is not playing left wing!
  5. I am not sure where you have got the impression that people would sell him or make him a scape goat. There is only one poster I know of on this site who would happily see him replaced.
  6. I completely agree with the sentiments although I don't think he would join Arsenal or Liverpool (unless Spurs accepted the offer). If Barca or Madrid come in for him there is no doubt in my mind that he would be off. I would expect Juve to be looking to sign a player like Berbatov too.
  7. Or maybe it's that and people's obsession with rating them higher than ourselves for some reason even though we've proved already that we can beat them in a straight fight when we took Ashley FROM THEIR FELLOW LONDON SIDE and bought him to villa park, the fact of the matter is Darren isn't stupid, he'll have Keane breathing down his neck down there and with us he'd be a king so i think we'll get him if Mon wants him. As I said though, it could signal the sale of Berbatov.
  8. Well if Spurs sign Bent then you can bet your bottom dollar either Defoe or Berbatov are off! The former maybe to us, the latter definitely not to us.
  9. Yeah but they would be 5 top quality signings. To be fair we wouldn't really want Barton and Nolan and I would prefer Nolan!
  10. This will do me: Distin and Barton from Man City, Jaaskeleinen, Nolan and Anelka from Bolton and a right back from somewhere else!
  11. In that case then I wouldn't agree as the club were the ones who with held information. It would be unfair to punish the players. West Ham really ought to have a transfer ban though precluding them from buying new players.
  12. Based on the latter point I am not sure whether the former point is serious or not.
  13. The one thing this ruling means is that this dodgy agent will have to sell the players registration as Tevez and Mascherano will not be allowed to play for a football team in England and I would imagine the rest of Europe!
  14. In reality, if the league/FA had any sense they should not have allowed Tevez or Mascherano to play until the outcome of the hearing was known.
  15. The fine should equal the money received for their final league position (pre points deduction) and they should be deducted 10 points. After all, why is going into administration deemed worse than illegally registering and playing 2 players? In my opinion the 3 point deduction from Boro a few seasons ago which saw them relegated was a much lesser crime! EDIT - and as Grant says, if this results in relegation, parachute payments should be withdrawn.
  16. Sidwell doesn't convince me either but on a free it would be little or no risk.
  17. No he's not as good as them, but that doesn't mean he can't be near their level in the future, the kid is only 21 for god sake and has enough potential for us to take a chance on him, Manure and Arsenal didn't wanna sign him last season for no reason!!. And they didn't not sign him for a reason. Any way, I would be pleased to sign him as I think he would be a good player for us as long as MON sorts out his attitude. He is no world beater and I don't ever expect him to be but a very good player is possible.
  18. He's got 22 goals and 21 assists for the season, I don't think he can get much better. He stays on his feet a lot of the time now, he's a much more direct runner with the ball and doesn't look to fall over. And comparing him in any way to Reo Coker is laughable. Well the last time Ronaldo and Reo-coker were on the same pitch one of them won their side the match and the other dived around as if he wanted to qualify for the swimming heats in the olympics!!, most of his tricks and goals have come against very poor sides on the premiership and how they ever gave him that goal against Milan is beyond me, they call him the "best in the world" but that's bollocks, he was shown up on his own pitch by Kaka the other day and Ronaldinho has more assists than him and just as many goals too but people seem to forget about that!!, he hasn't got anywhere near the skill level of Ronaldinho!!. OMG, are you suggesting that NRC is as good as Ronaldo? And by the way Ronaldo is 21 and is now operating at a level comparable (although not identical) to Kaka and Ronaldinho. He may not have the array of skills that Ronaldinho does but then who does? He is one of the most effective players in world football and for someone, who points to stats to "prove" how Barry isn't as good as many believe, to suggest that Ronaldo's stats are now irrelevant makes me laugh. FWIW I do think NRC is a good player but he is as much to blame as anyone for West Hams decline although I think that is down to bad attitude rather than a lack of ability. I think MON can pull him in line. And that goal against Man Utd was laid on a plate for him so he hardly single handedly beat Man Utd!
  19. We were but as a boyhood Boro fan, they were his first choice! Go figure! Just because we don't sign someone doesn't mean we weren't trying to.
  20. The London Lite is to the metro what the Sun is to the Times. Still, I can't imagine them running a story without a grain of truth in it. The one thing I will ask PB is why the hell he accepted one? It is a celebrity gossip paper you big girl!
  21. Yakubu is a good striker but I would rather have Bellamy, Defoe, Ashton... as I think they will score as many and contribute more overall.
  22. LukeMoore, CV, Lancs, Anthony, GarryBarry, Xann, Juju, Limpid, Trainman, (dare I say it) LBJ23. I have also had brief encounters with Richard and Bicks in the Holte carpark. Some mates of mine whoaren't Villa fans find it amusing to come on and insult me too but I won't count them so that is 12 although I have a nagging feeling that I have forgotten someone.
  23. For once I have to say I agree with everything you say here. Get those players and the backline is sorted.
