  1. Gabby is different to Davis in my opinion as I don't think Davis was all that good in his first season as he lacks either pace or physical strength whereas I think Gabby has the pace and fitness to cope with the demands of the premiership.
  2. Hopefully the u21's will get knocked out of the tournament early meaning that Young and Cahill will get more of a break and we can tie up the Reo Coker deal.
  3. I am fed up with Glastonspurs comments about Spurs. Frankly, I couldn't care less about what he has to say on the matter as although he seems a nice and respectful individual, it is becoming tiresome.
  4. Another Day, Another Vendetta by Hatebreed is the song on my Ipod at the moment.
  5. We already have the three talented prospects in the form of those foreign 16 year olds. I think we will add 3 first team players and 2 squad players.
  6. Maybe him and Carew are good friends and he is encouraging him to come here? Still, I don't believe the rumour!
  7. Teamtalk talk crap As if we would want a guy who is not good enough for Boro in our side
  8. I think we are in the age old situation of our transfers being dependent on others. I am convinced we will sign either Barton or NRC but that NRC is our preferred choice. We just need the Parker transfer to be completed first.
  9. I would class Young, Barry, Maloney and Berger as creative. I wouldn't be adverse to signing another one but I think other positions are more important (unless a top player comes along who is willing to join us of course).
  10. And I think that is what we will try to do Tricella. Our big signings will be long term investments, our "squad filling" signings will be short term investments. It is the right way to do things!
  11. Sorry Brian, he is better than UDLC :winkold: . Seriously though, both players can have absolute blinders but both are liable to more than the odd lapse in concentration.
  12. They are both far better than Michael Boulding and I would put Bramble on a par with UDLC. Robinson is a decent player too. I get your point though!
  13. What is your source Fuse to make you sure that he is at the Belfry and with Villa rather than SHA?
  14. Lets not get carried away. No one wants Bramble and we have no indication other than one persons "speculation" that we might be in for him. Even if we did sign him, I would still be expecting several big name players too.
  15. That would concern me severely. If he is signed, which I sincerely doubt, then it can only be as a back up. Ridgewell is much better than him and much younger. If we sold him and replaced him with Bramble then I would be mystified. Still I don't believe it for a minute.
  16. We need to sign 2/3 top players and then some squad players so we will see the odd player of this profile. We aren't top 4 yet after all!
  17. Robinson is actually a decent left back. If he were to be prepared to be a back up to Bouma then I think he would be worth signing as cover.
  18. If people are getting annoyed about our lack of transfer activity already then I think they have serious "issues" (diplomacy mode on). Teams rarely make major in roads so soon after the season has ended. If by the end of July we have yet to make any signings then I will understand why people may begin to worry. Even then there will be a whole month left. I would be keen for us to go for Scott Parker to be honest though.
  19. The transfer window precludes the registering of players with the FA at certain times not the actual signing/completion of transfers. Therefore, you can always sign players they just might not be able to be registered until the window opens. Effectively therefore we can sign players whenever we want. As for Koumas, good player and would be a useful addition to the squad but I agree in that we need a DM not an AM.
  20. Ideally we would sign Jagielka who can play right and left back but that now appears unlikely. Not sure who else I would sign as cover at left back to be honest. Players like Baines would be decent but he is not better than Bouma and would expect to be playing so I don't see the point in signing him. We are not yet in the position where we can sign good quality players who will be happy to be a squad player in the way the top 4 can do.
  21. Taylor, in my opinion, is an average mid table Premiership player with an exceptional shot which improves his value and worth. He would provide useful cover at left back and left midfield but as I have said, I really doubt that he will leave Pompey. If he does, I really can't see Liverpool being in for him although he is a typical Liverpool signing as he is not a top 4 player.
  22. Which technically means that he is not going nowhere, therefore, he is going somewhere. Sorry, just very bored at work today.
  23. Taylor will not be leaving Pompey. That's my opinion!
  24. I thought the point of Jez's post is to highlight that there is very little transfer activity and therefore if anyone is beginning to panic, don't. Was I wrong?
  25. Koumas is a good player but I'm not sure he is what we need. I would sign Curtis Davies though as I think he has great potential.
