For me, if available, £40 million for Tammy is a steal. Young ,talented, will probably be an England regular for years to come. He knows where the goal is, knows the fans are right behind him as well. Would I buy him just to sit on the bench? No, he could be used in many ways, a season is long, sometimes you need to change things up, maybe move Watkins for certain opponents, maybe play Tammy instead of Watkins to rest him etc. And who wouldn't want that kind of competition in the squad. Last season if things weren't working, we had very little on the bench to change things up. Having Tammy and Watkins available would mean there was fierce competition for places. Seems a no-brainer.

I have no problem with Southgate going with a cautious team selection as long as he is prepared for the backlash if it doesn't work out and we get dumped out of the competition. I don't believe he will be sacked if we lose, especially with the World Cup around the corner, but he will not be forgiven if he fails by not using his most talented players.

Who's to say what they are offering? He might get that from Villa. I just think it is not about money for Jack and the insinuation that it is does him a disservice. If it was cash he was after he would have forced a move two years ago and then got another this season. It isn't about the cash. He has more than enough time to see what happens at his club in the next two years and then decide if he needs to leave to win medals.

Looks like he might lose his place tonight for England, and after reading the usual bile on Twitter about him I just thought I would post that no matter what happens for the rest of the Euro's Tyrone has, in my opinion, been a rock at the back for England and doesn't look out of place at this level. Happy he is a Villa player and hope that he takes confidence from his performances this summer into next season, which lets be honest is the important thing here.
