There's a growing complacency amongst Villa supporters that McLeish will definitely be gone in the summer, but I think this is under-estimating the hubris of the man himself, and the total ineptitude of Lerner and his best mate, Faulkner. I can see us limping to another two draws against an out-of-form Spurs and an already 'on their summer holidays' Norwich. Couple this with the fans suddenly going quiet on the protest front and I can just see what they'll be thinking come the end of the season: Mcleish will think that he was, in fact, right all along, and the fans' vitriol during the Bolton game was merely a reaction to us throwing the lead away. If there's no murmur of how much we hate him at the Spurs game then this will just add weight to his strange belief that the abuse was a spontaneous reaction rather than a release of built up frustration/hate. He'll also probably start to think he CAN actually still do a job for us because we'd have been only beaten once in the last five games. As for Lerner and Faulkner - they'll probably think the same, and use our amazing run of one loss in five games as enough reason to give him another crack of the whip. He's a wounded animal at the moment, but he's the type who would go away, let time be a healer, and then come out fighting again. I, for one, will not allow him the chance and will be there to finish him off at the Spurs game.

Yep, it would be too easy for then to prevent us from doing this. Nice idea though. I reckon we should just keep it simple and have a minute's sleep - everyone just closes their eyes and puts their head back/lies across the empty seat next to them/put their head on their friend's shoulder next to them/on the back of the seat in front etc and pretend to be asleep. It could be started with a brief chorus of "Go to sleep if you hate Mcleish".

I reckon McLeish is in a win-win situation at Villa Park. He won't get sacked even if we finish 17th. Next season all he'll then need to do is improve on that (say by finishing 14th) and the idiots we've got in charge will be smug and claim that he's made 'progress'.

Interesting feature in the Guardian "Five things we learned from the weekend". They're basically saying that Villa would probably benefit from being relegated as it might bring some fun back to the club and give the youngsters a less intense platform on which to develop. They also said it would rid us of McLeish which is something we'd all be glad of (the getting rid of AMc, that is, and not necessarily the relegation).

Are we allowed to protest yet or do we have to still consider the feelings of the players who probably don't want to play for McF*ckFace anyway? In fact, we'd probably be doing them a **** favour. I think it's excuses personally Same. I'm sorry but if a cull ever comes then he should be on the list. He can't be trusted not to go on long, retarded runs of not knowing the net from the back row of the upper Holte or the safety of the keeper's warm gloves. He was the same under MON. The doe eyed sentiment of him loving the Vila needs to look be forgotten - as a club we need to move on from some of the old(er) guard and bring in some fresh, hungry players.
