he can only strengthen us in the summer if he gets some money to spend. Do you really think he will? he got a lot more than most managers in the UK last year and with a few high earners off the wage bill i would imagine he will get enough

If he can't keep us up what makes you think he'll build a team that will get us back to where we belong? Where do we belong exactly? Who would you bring in to replace him if we went down? What exactly is your problem with him?

thats what i reckon it will finish like, and other than villa/wigan, their are 2 other massive games in the final week, southampton/sunderland and west ham/wigan. i've got us down to lose to wigan so if we beat them we'll end up finishing healthily and they will be relegated
  4. will Baker be back for this? because i am actually starting to have a little confidence in Bennett now, even though i still believe he is essentially an out-of-position left mid player. Guzan Lowton Vlaar Clark Bennett Bannan Sylla Delph Weimann Agbonlahor Benteke Is the formation i would play. I do not understand the people who are still against Delph, he was head and shoulders above everyone in the Man City game for our team and in passing it sideways and backwards he does exactly what Westwood does, with slightly less composure but lots more natural ability and a willingness to push forwards. Bannan looked good last game imo along with sylla, westwood i think should be left to have a rest and see how we do without him
  5. i still really want him to do well here but i just cannot see it. one thing i have noticed a lot actually, leading on from the noone celebrating with him point, is that he is never talked to or mentioned by any of the academy guys on twitter, when they continue to mention the likes of craig gardner, liam ridgewell, jonathan hogg and even adam mcgurk. they've all been long gone now and yet the players still keep talking to them and wishing them well
  6. i'm thinking we'll win this one. I think the positive vibes going round now and the lift that would have given the dressing room will be massive. I think QPR are going to be nervous for this, and the atmosphere is probably going to be more tense than it has been for years and years in the stadium. Just bring back the points lads.
  7. would be great to have a good crowd in, there are lots of good deals going for this, like 1 ticket = 1 home/away villa shirt for £10, stuff to do with Acorns and family things. I think we'll drag a lot of fans down for this one, especially after the last result

I thought the QPR game would be big and have been looking forward to going to see it for a while, but now it is finally coming up, and seeing just how close we are and how important it could be, i am very very nervous and will be a nervous wreck for most of the game. Hope against hope that we can push ourselves up the league with a win there and a surprise result against Liverpool. that will stick us on 33 which would stick us right in amongst a lot of teams who i thought were just too far ahead of us a few weeks back. teams like southampton, sunderland, norwich, fulham, newcastle, these are teams i think we should aim to be catching up with, if we keep looking over our shoulders for the rest of the season then we've got no room for error, we need at least 1 team to cushion us from relegation for me to feel just a bit more comfortable
  9. still rate him as a manager, but no where near as highly as I did when he was at Norwich. I think a lot of managers would be in the same position he is in as it stands, but he was the right appointment at the time in my opinion and i don't think we should sack managers mid-season, so on that basis right man for the job for me right now, just time to watch these next 2 games and hope against hope that the players are determined and talented enough to soldier through them
  10. some might call me mad but Benteke being suspended for this game might not be such a bad thing. The whole team cannot rely on him and hit him with most forward balls if it is the case, and reading won't know who is going to be our focal point so won't be able to pick one man to defend out of the game. I'm going for a win mainly because i think anything else will see us go down but i think as long as we don't lose there is still a slim chance
  11. on the rare occasion he beat him, the pass wouldn't be good enough, and it wasn't just zabaleta that he came up against and failed to get round or trouble. looked like he was carrying a knock or something just didn't seem 100% for me. i understand your opinion though
  12. Clark's mistake was poor and cost us a goal at the time but i feel we would have lost anyway. We didn't really shoot for 90 minutes of football at our home ground which isn't ideal. They all tried hard, there was some brilliant one-touch passing movement going on towards the end which i loved, Delph was immense, Guzan was debatably world-class that match. Agbonlahor was awful, Zab kept him in his pocket and i thought that was why he wasn't performing but he didn't take on anyone, a lot of passes were poor choice or just poor. First game i've gone to where Benteke has been playing and wasn't impressed today Thought Bennett and Lowton both played well. The lynx astronauts were brilliant, as was the chanting to Hart "shall we scratch your head for you" If we play like we did that match, and actually occasionally shoot towards goal, we could get something from the next 2 games. my personal opinion which is probably lost on everyone else, is that we'll survive somfortably. Think the next 10 games could be some of the best we've seen for a couple of years
  14. Park up Holborn Hill mate opposite Aston station £5 secure car park. Or there's the Indian supermarket over the road from the Addies also £5 closer but more traffic after the match i'll go for Holborn hill, thanks most the time i've gone in a car someone else has been driving and we've ended up in an "official" car park or on someones front lawn for a fiver but i would rather aim for somewhere recommended by other.
  15. Finally back in the country for the first time this season so i can get to all the home games and some away now. Really looking forward to this one, i think we're gonna beat one of the big boys at some point, we're gonna win whilst on TV at some point and hopefully we're gonna go on a run at some point so why not do it all at once. quick question, i'm going to be driving to this, where is best place to park this season and could someone get me directions to it, or point me in the right direction for them?

like someone said before, the season starts now for me, the unfortunate thing being that 5 of our 12 games are very difficult, and 3 are must-wins. Going to be intense and nail-biting, but to be honest i cannot wait!
  17. his agent is doing his job. players make a fortune from transfers, as do agents i just think he is making Benteke look stupid and uncommitted though, if i was a club like Tottenham i would take being used as a stepping stone as an insult, he only got away with it for us because he's single-handedly won us points on occasion Spurs are a massive step up from us though? i think you misunderstood, i am agreeing with you, i am just saying if i was in charge of buying spurs players and i knew that Benteke wanted to use Spurs as a stepping-stone to go on and play for Arsenal i would not be happy about signing him to say the least
  18. can see a win here, come on lads lets do this!! get on a roll and finish mid-table, ever the optimist now i am

  20. i'm surprised, relatively speaking, how many followers QPR and Fulham have, i always put them down to being small London area teams. Surprised also, how quickly Man City have aquired a huge fanbase
  21. I'm hoping Sylla will come good but it's a big ask to suddenly make a poor midfield a half-decent one when you've come from the second division of a different country. Seems a very risky move has been made to me
  22. he's such a horrible bastard. is it just impossible for us to sell him or have managers since houllier seen something in him? he can't help dressing room spirits i would imagine
