  1. Yeh. It’s good to see tbh. Footballers need to stop being pussies
  2. I don’t see your angle here. There are no better alternatives. That’s our best XI, and that’s what’s disappointing.
  3. No doubt this guy will be class for us. Had a bit of a mare last week but I reckon he’ll get on the scoresheet today.
  4. Absolutely. I actually hope that the aim isn’t to finish in Europe this season if Smiths job rests on it. Our aim should be to match last seasons finish and to not go backwards. We’ve lost our best player and not properly replaced him or addressed the glaring deficiencies in other areas of the team. Of course, that may change if we bring bodies in but i think it would be daft that Smith should be expected to compete for Europe with our current squad.
  5. This is a huge game. We need to win it to get some points on the board. We have had a horrible pre season, Grealish has left and we have a few niggling injuries. If we lose this, we look a far less attractive proposition to potential signings in the last week of the window and we’ll have also lost to two teams who will be fighting relegation. FWIW, I think we’ll lose. We’re a poor side on paper and if we play anything like we did against Watford, they’ll score 2 or 3.
  6. Hopefully 3 in the middle with Buendia and JPB out wide
  7. This is painfully true. The reason why it shouldn’t be a meltdown is because it’s to be expected. We haven’t significantly strengthened in the Summer and we have a couple of annoying injuries. Right now, I’d argue Newcastle are as strong as us on paper.
  8. Which is why he needs to be playing ahead of El Ghazi. Honestly, there is no point in JPB being here if he can’t play ahead of somebody who is criminally poor in nearly every game he plays. Just send him out on loan if you’re not going to play him. The kid has potential, go and let him realise it in the championship and bring him back next year a better player.
  9. There will be a mini meltdown in here tomorrow if we lose, which is a real possibility. Some of it will be justified and some of it won’t. I fully expect us to struggle tomorrow because everything points to us doing so.
  10. The fee for Sarr is €12m. Seems cheap.
  11. McKennie sounds like our profile of player. Works extremely hard, gets about the pitch and he’s young. My only concern is, is he a little similar to McGinn and Sanson? Or is he one to play deeper as a DM? Can’t say I’ve seen much of him! McKennie alongside a new DM would be amazing.
  12. I said this yesterday to someone! He said we need Ian Taylor back, I said I’d prefer Boateng. Not because of ability, but a defensive midfielder is a must!
  13. No way. I thought it was an excellent post tbh.
  14. No, that’s not my style mate. I’d prefer to argue with you for a bit longer first
  15. He got the best out of him, no doubt, and that’s absolutely fine. My worry is his record without him. He’ll sink or swim in the first 3 months of this season. I want him to succeed, badly.
  16. Whoooaaaa. That kind of sane analysis gets you in all kinds of bother on here. We’re not allowed to reference the Watford game as it was the first game of the season and we had a couple of injuries. Everything is fine and we’ll start our push for Europe tomorrow..
  17. Proved us all wrong?! I’m firmly in the ‘Smith in’ camp! What do you mean?
  18. The first three paragraphs were massively influenced by Jack Grealish. Smiths record without him is poor. It’ll be interesting to see how he does this season. I think he’ll struggle.
  19. Cliche answer. Im not saying it’s football manager, nor am I questioning the fact that we probably have some smart people working at the club. We need a midfielder or two, and we’re doing nothing about it.
