It would be nice for Lambert to copy the style AC Milan adopted against playing Barcelona, if we play our normal game we will get ripped to shreds, if we play more compact in defence and the middle, close the gaps and just hit them on the break we stand more of a chance of getting a result. Agreed, depends on how bad the groin strain is, can be a Grade 1, 2 or 3, 3 being the worst. I currently have a Grade 2 groin injury, used to play twice a week, initially took 6 weeks off, rushed back and within 5 minutes the pain came back, in total it has been 7 months and I have not played a game, they take very long to heal fully, although i have not had the benefit of a special physio, very nasty injury!! Take Sam Allardyce approach, his team is full of beasts!! defenders, midfielders and strikers are all tall, im not saying we should follow that per se, but even when West Ham play shit, they can hoof the ball up with a bit of conviction knowing some of their players will latch on to it, secondly they have more of a physical presence and are not lightweight, they can at the very least stand their ground when they do not ahve the ball, i would take a few of their players if we had the chance

Have to agree with this, the tactics and formation was simply woeful. I too was fully expecting gabby to play on the wing and provide us some pace and width. The 4-4-2 simply is not working. Seeing the game yesterday I saw delph and KEA occupy the same position and a huge gap in midfield between them and gabby. What happened to passing football? I saw a lot of long ball and none of the passing play which brought enthusiasm despite some losses. Yesterday was just poor all round play. I would like to see us play 4-3-3 attcking and 4-5-1 defending. That way we can mix it up with passing in the middle, plus some width on the wings. Lambert needs to sort this out asap, maybe experiment in the swindon game. I still trust in him and don't want him to leave as I can't see any one else decent taking over!
