  1. Sorry got to disagree. He did nothing to calm us. He created panic with some of his abysmal play
  2. Could see the logic with leaving mcginn out but it was a mistake. Doesn't matter though, as he rectified it and we won.
  3. Well your criticism of starting Grealish last week was bang on, so maybe these opinions of yours deserve respect.
  4. Hard decision but probably the right one to leave mcginn on the bench. Taylor is a liability.
  5. Bruce had a summer transfer window and decided this was the way forward, sending elphick on loan. Smith is responding to 3 central defenders being out injured. Do try and keep up
  6. I don't blame him for spending money. I do blame him for failing to get us up and throwing that money away on expensive loans or aging players.
  7. Well you're changing the argument. No one started talking about which players flopped and which didn't. The point was, we failed to go up and we no longer have a financial advantage over other teams. We wasted that advantage with Bruce, who through way more transfer windows than RDM failed to build anything, failed to get promoted and has left nothing really. How many bruce signings will play a significant part next season?
  8. So you don't class wages as spending? Also by wasting our financial advantage its not just spending, it was failure to promote us.
  9. Villa review was the best one. Villa view is decent but always enjoyed listening to @chrisvillan, he was very good at it.
  10. Not nearly as bad as the others.
  11. But smith is a shit manager so surely you don't expect to win. That's madness.
  12. And people passionately defended that fraud of a previous owner. Amazing what a bit of PR does for someone.
  13. You're assuming it is hidden. A business plan that the club are aware of, doesn't need to have all the details shared with the general public. That doesn't make it some hidden plan.
  14. Maybe i haven't explained it very well. I know loans can be beneficial to a team and I know it allows us to get some good players. However, currently after 3 seasons, all we have done is help individual players regain form or fitness while we achieve nothing significant. Smith has been hired to build something long term, a style of play based around his coaching and ideas. For me, given how we have achieved nothing but create gaps that need filling each summer, i'd prefer to stay away from the loan market.
  15. So have i, but i feel we need bigger aims. Ultimately we need to build something to get promoted.
  16. So would i but you've picked an extreme comparison. Both options lead to short term thinking and not really building anything.
  17. Fair enough, if you genuinely felt we would be relegated, then it has achieved something. Not for me though.
  18. I just can't imagine these guys buying the club if 12 months later everything was going to be ****. It makes no sense.
  19. Crazy talk. Grinding things out with no long term plan is clearly the way forward.
  20. If we get promoted then there is no real issue, we have succeeded. But if we are trying to build something long term, it doesn't help. It leaves holes that need filling and as we've seen, its almost impossible to replace with similar quality.
  21. If we are still a championship club next year, then yes it has. It also leaves us trying to replace a key player but getting no money to do so. While i have enjoyed his goals, if we finish 8th, what has it accomplished?
  22. I seriously hope we don't loan a single player this summer. Such a waste of time. While we fail to go up, we have restarted snodgrass' career, put abraham in the shop window for prem teams and helped get bolassie and mings back to full fitness. And for what? Terrible approach that needs to be moved on from.
  23. And this is just the simple fact. Nothing to do with systems and managers. Scott Hogan is not a good player at this level.
  24. I disagree. Most of his fouls are him being too quick with his feet or being clever and winning the foul. Can't remember many games where he seemed to have lots of horrendous tackles on him. The main one was when Bruce decided that was the best way to stop him.
