  1. Id go with that mate, i think Delph and Jenas could turn out to be a decent little partnership. Thats how I would go, would love to see Ireland pull his finger out and then have Ireland in for Delph but the odds on Ireland putting in any effort in are about as good as the odds on me getting a BJ from Eva Mendes

    Alan Hutton

My flatmate is a spuds season ticket holder so I have seen him a few times. No better than what we have alreday, looked good in the SPL but hasnt really impressed in England. Similar story to Shaun Maloney cant cut it down south

    Alan Hutton

Alan Hutton's move to Aston Villa has stalled after Tottenham rejected a £3m offer for the defender from their Premier League rivals. Aston Villa are battling to sign Tottenham full-back Alan Hutton before the deadline after seeing an initial £3million offer snubbed. Villa chief Alex McLeish is looking to bolster his right-back options for the season ahead after he allowed Luke Young to join Premier League new boys QPR at the weekend. And, as reported previously, 26-year-old Scotland international, Hutton, is the man at the top of McLeish's wanted list ahead of Wednesday's 11pm deadline. However, it is being reported that Spurs supremo Daniel Levy wants more than £3million for Hutton given that they forked out £9million to Glasgow Rangers for his signature in January 2008.

:? I wouldnt agree with that

    Alan Hutton

We may have 4 but soon as he comes he'll be the best out of the lot. Quality over quantity. Totally disagree, Hutton is not that good IMO and I would rather we sorted out the midfield and the wing as Delph,Bannan,Ireland and Allbrighton are not good enough and Stan tires after 70 mins.
  6. I cant believe anybody in their right mind would pick McLeish over Houllier

    Alan Hutton

totally crap signing. total waste of money if we get him, we alreday have 4 people that can play at right back its just plain stupid. we need 2 centre midfielders and a winger not an average scottish right back who is not going to improve the team at all
  8. thought the defence looked good again today. Thought Herd played well. Again the problem is the middle, crying out for two new centre mids and although he played well i thought Heskey tired badly after 60 mins. Most disappointing was the decision to take Zog off for Bannan! Someone talk me through that? Fonz should have come on for Heskey. Major note was the crowd today, that attendance was embarrasing
  9. I fancy a draw in this game tbh. suprised at how many spare seats there are again especially for a derby match over 7000 in our end. Still 3611 seats spare in the Holte end alone especially in the upper tier, was plenty of spare seats empty up there against Blacburn also. Seems alot of our core support is till satying away which is a shame. I guess thats the McLeish factor I would imagine he will play the same team that played against Blackburn if everybody is fit and well. I dont think anybody did enough who started against Hereford to warrant a start. If its to be a positive result we need to score 1st. wolves look a bit more solid these days and I think signing Roger Johnson was a good buy for them. Wouldnt have minded if we had grabbed him ourselves to be fair. Hopefully we can sneak a 2-1 but it has draw written all over it
  10. Makoun will go before the window closes i think and we will loan a player in
  11. i think alot of it is to do with eck being appointed but its no suprise to be fair he has come from our most bitter rivals. I didnt go because of work although i saw most of it on the net. There is also the fact that two star players have gone but over the last two seasons we have played blackburn about 12 times! I hope we dont get them in a cup again they are shit and im sick of watching them lol
  12. decent result - blackburn are going down still baffled as to why we always end up struggling in the second half of games particualry the last 15 mins of a game. I can hardly bear to watch villa at the end of a match even when we have a two goal lead I think the writing is on the wall for makoun, I think he is off although im not sure why we are getting rid of him which is a shame but Bannan looked okay. Still need another signing in the middle I think we also desperatly need another winger IMO. Gabby player well but Allbrighton struggled again.
  13. Its only because Gabby is injured shame he was playing well too by all accounts hopefully Allbrighton can put in a good game. He is due one!!!
  14. Im stuck at work, how is Nzogbia playing??? Does he still look a bit short of fitness
  15. hmmmmmm we should be going 4-4-2 against this shower of shite but I have got a terrible feeling this is going to turn into another 4-5-1 snoozefest. gabby will be woeful because he is out of position and wont get involved thats almost a certainty and quite why Delph and Petrov are starting I will never know especially when we have Gardner, Ireland, Makoun and Bannan fit. They are the worst midfield pairing we have had for a while IMO and if Nzogbia has another duffer then Bent may as well go home because I dont see where the supply is coming from. Disappointed again by this line up but not suprised. Makoun supposedly off to Olympiakos too..........got a feeling this is going to be a crap weekend I am hoping I am totally wrong by the way and we give em a good hiding but i doubt it somehow
  16. There is a Jean Makoun welcome to Olympiakos video on youtube
  17. The harsh reality of it all is that we are a feeder club to the top clubs. As much as people paint over it and bitch and moan, this is fact. Technically everyone is, Wig, by this definition. People on here have decided to incorrectly use the term 'feeder club' and distort it's meaning, which is annoying. That's how it is these days. But the more profit we can get on our players the better our economy will be and in the long run we might find it easier to keep our good players. A bit like tottenham. But we'll probably have to wait a few years and just hope to be able to stay just a bit north of the mid table line. If it can turn out good for us I'm prepared to wait. Spurs do not run at a profit they have an owner who pumps plenty of money into them to cover transfers and wages and they run at a loss every season so this isnt really anything for us to aim at. Spurs had a profit of £3m in 2007 , a profit of £33.4m in 2008 and they made a £4.2m profit in the last 6 months of 2010. I think they had a loss in 2009 but generally they do make profits Back on topic, Delph is nothing more than average and Man Utd did not bid for him

  19. Hopefully not, he adds nothing at all to the team
  20. I have to work every other sat so not worth a season ticket. In MON's last season in charge i managed 28 games home and away plus the two trips to wembley. I went a few times last year but have very little interest this year. The main one being McLeish, not so much the ex blues thing but I have seen his sides play football on numerous occasions and not impressed by his style. I was warming to GH and McCallister with what they were trying to achieve there I think they should have been kept on. From the pre season games in hong kong, the game at derby and what we served up at fulham it looks like its going to pretty dire football this year which is what i expected from McLeish, its not exactly going to get me rushing down week in week out
  21. Delph is quality based on what? Largely anonymous and does not offer any penetration. Takes too long on the ball and is totally over rated. How he can start a game over Makoun, Bannan or Gardner is totally beyond me. I think he is poor to say the least and offers very little indeed
  22. given was outstanding and the back four played well. Collins still a bit suspect for me. Gabby cant play wide but we all knew that its not exactly a secret but why every manager tries it is beyond me. Nzogbia was dreadful today and Delph is just not good enough i dont see what the fuss is with him at all. Thought stan was solid to be fair to him. Heskey was poor and Bent was started of service but when you sell the likes of Young and Downing and dont replace them you are asking for trouble. We need two centre midfielders and a winger as soon as possible. May as well get rid of Heskey, Delph, Gabby and Beye this month there is just no need for them. I thought the formation picked was poor and the starting line up was poor. Not impressed with McLeish selection wise. Overall rating 5/10 think we will struggle to hit the net this season
  23. Only 3 problems with that midfield. Delph is terrible, Bannan is not ready for the the premier league and and Ireland may as well just stay in Cheshire because he is a total waste of space. Makoun should be the holding player with Stan and Gary Gardner in the middle. Nzog should be the only wide man and switch between the wings with gabby and bent up top. I cant believe we have not signed another midfield player. The middle of the park is frankly quite embarrassing at the moment
  24. we are in for a massive struggle this year. Weak links at the back, heskey and gabby out of position and wasted. Lack of creativity going forward unable to retain possession. 4-5-1 really does not work we dont have the right players and the middle of the park is a joke. Poor again and totally lacking quality but i dont expect much more from a McLeish team. Trouble ahead i fear
