  1. It's not often a release clause NEEDS to be met though. Spanish clubs will usually accept a solid (realistic market value) offer. The release clauses are usually set stupidly high because it's a rule. It's like, "We don't want our player talking to you because you matched their market value price, so we'll inflate it to prevent you even trying. We'd rather you offer us a good deal and we'll decide if it's right for us at the time or not."
  2. I do this too, but I do also have a team of scouts (one for each section of Europe, two for South America, and one for each of the other continents). I sent them to 'ongoing' so they never stop searching and set the age to under 18 (or 19 if they're searching an area where kids can't sign for international clubs until they're over 18). Then I just sign the best they come back with for each position in my system every year or two.
  3. Even with the option of a 3d engine (and the fact I have a laptop more than capable of running it even if it looked like FIFA), I always remain faithful to the Championship Manager style 'Commentary Only' option. I don't even bother with the replays. Play the match then 'go on holiday' until next game/registration or transfer deadline and repeat.
  4. It's true. It only takes one really good week and you're right back in there.

    Unai Emery

Well, paint my nips. What a signing! NSWE not messing around.
  6. I only got Tampa wrong this week! Of course, this also means they messed up a sizable accumulator
  7. The pass by Young to Bailey in the build up to the 2nd goal is utterly sublime. Not getting nearly as much attention as it deserves.
  8. *Goes into hiding* Not over yet though!
  9. Joe Burrow went off today. Massive game!
  10. Gonna be a slog for my team this week. Surely the 0 has to go. 2nd string WRs and two tight ends in the line up...
  11. It's all part of the 'Crazy Train' Villa experience. We all bond together over the perpetually inexorable misery and disappointment! A good ol' balti pie eases the pain, I find. There'll be another Peace Cup victory soon enough though...
  12. I wish we'd stop doom-posting about Dyche. I don't want him as much as the next person (as much as I like him), and I know the fans seem to want an 'exotic' and 'spicy' manager, but I feel the club know this. I genuinely can't see the board messing around with this appointment and it wouldn't surprise me if they go beyond the suggestions of Purslow (or whoever else). It'll be a proper name or a safe-bet prodigy (like Amorim), but they'll do it directly, they'll do it themselves, and they'll probably do it rather swiftly. Big Nassef is clearly in no mood to be messing about.
  13. Abysmal. Surely can't survive tomorrow, if not tonight.
  14. Jets looking quite decent this season. Competitive, at least. My mate is a Jets fan of 12 years and so has never seen his team have much of a chance in games. Loving life at the moment. There's almost no shame in losing to them at the moment.
  15. Just had a look and it doesn't seem it is. Shame really because next week's game should be a little more lively than the past two.
  16. Thursday Night Football has been dreadful these past two weeks.
  17. I'm genuinely shocked. Didn't even check it this morning, because I thought it was over.
  18. I've never seen so many lateral passes in all my life.
  19. Alright, I've switched. He has to go. Absolutely dire football.
  20. I'm finally going to lose and it's against an 0-4 team, haha. The way it goes, I guess.
  21. Only one Coop in this game and it's the STILL UNDEFEATED Cooper Rush! Seriously though, NFC East looking good (apart from Washington)
  22. I also can't believe those 'Cheese-head' hats the fans have cost £60!
  23. Can't believe Rodgers couldn't get it done against those bums. Padded record Giants.
  24. Not sure how many people are watching the London game on UK TV , but ITV's coverage is an awkward mess (Laura Woods aside, of course). Who in the right mind decided it was a good idea to have in-house commentary on this? Painful.
