I think you'll find that the team fly out this weekend to Germany, So i guess we will find out within the next few days but if he does want to leave then i don't think he will be traveling along to Germany with the rest of the squad.

Why are most people on here thinking he will go? Lambert is the puppet master here, we get a good price and Lerner might have a say otherwise he plays for Villa or throws his dummy and looses all hope of playing in the world cup 2014, Lambert has proven that he will not sit back and be dictated to, Benteke has morals and his father has not brought up a spoilt brat. IMO he will be here this season.

We have brought in 4 new players, if we buy now and find ourselfs stuck with Bent, Given, Ireland, Bannan and a few others that don't fit in with Lamberts plans we could be stuck paying out big wages for bench warmers. Sell them first and then play with the money to get a few more players on resonable wages.

Can't be the last, we still need a goalkeeper and a right back at the very least, if all goes to plan and we shift the likes of Ireland,Given,Bent and a few others, them we could well see another 4 maybe 5 new players coming in. After this week Lambert will take his holiday till 1st July and then after shifting the dross we could be in for another exciting week before the friendly's start.

That's the third season in a row that we get away fixture to start and end the season, theres just no justice in the world.

Tough start to the season, but on the bright side we might all enjoy Christmas this year.

So by that you see it as a positive that we have no clue as to what the hell is going on with regards to Benteke? Do you not think if we were really going places quickly as a club he would be itching to sign a new contract? NO! why would he and Villa not wait it out, £30M for a player that cost £7M sounds a good deal to me and besides that as much as i admire Benteke "He is his own man and as young and stupid you may think he is, i'm sure his father will sort that out."
