    Further reports, out of Hong Kong this time, suggesting omicron is significantly milder than delta on the lungs. It seems to survive and reproduce better in the higher respiratory system and is more likely to leave your lungs alone. Which could be very good news, hinting at a soon-to-be dominant variant that behaves more like the common cold than its predecessors. Hopefully these findings continue to be reinforced as more and more data becomes available. I’m going to choose to be optimistic about it anyway.

    I’m just going to straight out admit it. I tried a few episodes of Succession. I didn’t like it very much. Gave up.

    Couldn’t have asked for more from a new manager. This feels very right. Gerrard is clearly football smart, he seems to have a clear (and positive!) philosophy and he seems to command the respect required to make the players perform at the top of their games. We look like a much better team than we did when he took over. I don’t think it’s all down to new manager bounce and luck - we’re onto a good thing here. Hell, I find myself even not hating that Scouse accent of his.

    First half was good, then a fairly unimpressive first 30 after the break, then a professional finish. Good result! Happy!

    @HanoiVillan, I have to say, you are probably my ultimate echo chamber on this. There isn’t a word you have written over these last few pages I would have put differently if I could. Sincerely, thanks for helping me write my own opinions, only better than I could have written them myself.

    I’m honestly tempted to say it’s not actually inconsistency. They’re consistently given in favour of the likes of Liverpool, Man United etc. and quite consistently not given for whoever the same teams are playing. It’s biased.
