Today was all about the result ,performances will have to improve to get promotion next season but we have god a solid defence now which is something to build on have strikers that will score goals at this level it's just to get a bit of creativity into the side we are getting there slowly but we are getting there.

Poor result ,But what makes me positive is that Bruce's signings have improved us Lansbury Hourihane and the likes of Hogan Bree and Bjarnsson will be big players for us next year if we can get a couple of more players of that standard we will be in the promotion mix .

Showed a lot of character this week really like the look of him as a player really solid does not spectacular but doesn't too much wrong a while since we have had a left back like that.

Just keep winning games that's all we can do it's unlikely but stranger things have happened ,football is a funny game .

We are playing to our strengths no point in trying to put square pegs in round holes ,we don't have the players to dominate possession wise it suits us to hit teams on the break the likes of Kodjia ,Hogan ,Admoah ,Hourihane all suited to the counterattack with there pace and power .I think Steve Bruce deserves a lot of credit it's the first time we have looked like a proper team in 6/7 years .

I think any team in the champ would be delighted with promotion regardless of how it comes .He has been promoted 4 times think it's safe to say he knows what it takes to get a team up I would certainly take a fourth place finish and promotion for us .

Hourihane and Lansbury are light years ahead of anything we have had in midfield over the last 5/6 years.

The most important thing that has changed is we are keeping clean sheets do that and you always have a chance of winning games.Winning games is a habit and we need to keep this run going to build for next season .

He will prove to be a great buy just the type of midfielder we needed good engine and can get in behind the opposition defence cannot remember the last time we had a midfielder who was able to get beyond our strikers he will prove to be our best signing .

There is a way of coaching players now it's changed in the last 5/10 years the ruling by fear is long gone you just can't do it anymore regardless of what the coach believes themselves there is a line you cannot cross and being abusive to players is unacceptable there is other ways and means to get the best out of players .

2 wins in a row ,2 clean sheets ,bottom side to play at the weekend ,are we too far behind for a playoff push ? Seriously though we are making progress that was much better tonight .

The pressure of playing for a club with big expectations week in week out Hourihane Lansbury McCormack etc they haven't all become bad players over night I think they are struggling a bit with having pressure to produce the goods Villa is the biggest club they have played with if you look at some of the other teams signings a lot of them have dropped from the Premier league a lot of our signings over the last few windows Villa has been a step up for them .

Pressure .The players can't cope .Over the last few windows we have signed players that Villa is the biggest club they have played for in some cases by a distance and they are struggling with the expectation .The only way that changes is we have to start making winning a habit which is easier said than done .

There is no point in people saying we are playing rubbish football Bruce's teams are always like that we knew that before we came the worrying thing is we are conceding soft goals which is very unlike Bruce's teams I feel sorry for him in a way you can't legislate for the goals we are conceding at the minute ,it is a results based business though and if the results don't start coming his days will be numbered the buck always stops with the manager in the end ,I think we need to stick with the manager until the end of the season and then reevaluate the situation .We aren't as bad as the results suggest a lack of confidence and to be honest we aren't getting much luck either which every team needs .

Played well until 1st goal after that you can see the confidence drain from the players ,terrible goals to concede again and unless that stops we will continue to struggle .We just really need the rub of the green nothing is going for us and things will turn ,Newcastle created little but unfortunately we just handed them 2 soft goals .

Ya maybe luck is the wrong word but losing our top scorer and best player for a month to international duty was a disaster .

Our best player at the time Kodjia left for a month every other year it isn't played we were unlucky that a player in form was playing in it this year .

We all need a reality check ,we think we are still a big club unfortunately those days are long gone we have been playing like a poor side for 6 seasons now and haven't won a trophy in 20 years .We have been a joke shop 6 managers in 18 months turnover of over 40 players ,no club will have success with that carry on .We need to build a team the only way we can that is stick with a manager for the time it will take to build a proper side and 20 games and 6 months is nowhere near long enough to do that .I know you make your own luck but we haven't had any this year injuries African nations cup etc we haven't been able to put out our best side at any stage and due to us being poor for so long the pressure is getting to players the fans are weighing heavy on them they are afraid to make mistakes they just get rid of the ball as soon as they get it anywhere will do the only way that will change is confidence and that will only happen with the fans behind the players and manager ,I don't think Bruce is the best manager in the world but he as sure as hell know how to promote a team and he will get us there aswell given the chance we will turn the corner he needs time we will get there I'm positive we have the right man .

I cannot see the benefit of us changing the manager again we are going nowhere if changing the manager every time we are struggling Bruce was the right man 2 months ago results have been rubbish but it will change it will just take time

If people think we are a laughing stock as it is wait until we get rid of the manager that has 4 promotions already to his name .Its a big job to turn Villa around much bigger than I thought it would be look results are shocking we are struggling I think the majority of the problem is confidence within the club when things start to go wrong it snowballs players look like they have no belief in themselves ,football is a confidence game we are certainly not as bad as we are playing and our signings haven't become bad players overnight it's rubbish at the moment but we just have to ride out the storm stick with Bruce and we will be a better team in the long run for it.

If he wasn't a Villa fan he would be getting slated ,he has bags of potential but hasn't got the hunger or attitude to make it ,he will fall by the wayside like many other of our academy prospects you need a certain attitude to succeed he doesn't have it .He thinks and we think he is a lot better than he actually is .

Yes you are probably right on that one we were getting there defensively and he has come in over the last 4/5 games and we look all over the place .

The lad has had a disastrous start his confidence is shot and a struggling backline isn't helping him either he has come highly rated but a bit like a lot of players when they but on a Villa jersey they seem to immediately struggle I hope he improved we need him to need to keep clean sheets going to struggle otherwise .

He was decent tonight he will come good needs time and certainly doesn't need fans on his back after 2 games .

Bruce speaks a lot of sense ,I like him a lot he is old school and doesn't accept any rubbish from players this has been going on at villa for years ,will be interesting to see how far we have come by end of season when the players he has bought have settled in .We are in the middle of a very poor run and the football is awful but we do need to go back to basics to go forward when we get that right and we haven't yet we can get more expansive .There is no quick fix for this sacking Bruce won't help we need continuity it might even take a couple of seasons before things come good we have been awful for 6 season we have lost a lot of battles but we a little patience and continuity we will win the war .
