Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish admits it is 'difficult' to comment on whether he will try to sign Alan Hutton to replace the Queens Park Rangers bound Luke Young. QPR are set to finalise a move for Young after Villa allowed the former England international to secure a return to a London-based club. Tottenham Hotspur full-back Hutton has been linked with a move to Villa Park to replace Young after playing under McLeish at Rangers and for Scotland. McLeish confirmed he is keen to bring in more experienced bodies before the transfer deadline, but refused to be drawn on any interest in Hutton. Thin on the ground "We will try to fill that gap, we will try to bring someone else in," said McLeish. "Am I interested in Alan Hutton? He is a Spurs player. It's difficult for me to comment on other team's players. "But we are ready with a few names. We would try and add. We are thin on the ground in terms of experience in the squad. "We have a lot of good young players but in terms of experienced ones we are a bit thin." Regarding Young's imminent exit to QPR, McLeish added: "We've had an offer that was acceptable to the club. I think he thought he had no future here last year and moved his family back to London. "There was an agreement between Luke and I before the start of the season that, if it was right for both us and him, then we may agree to him going back to London."

I really like petrov as person but apart from that the way he plays really fustrates me. Never plays a forward ball which if were winning and trying to retain possesion is fine but its everytime. He definitley gets tired after 60 mins so needs to be subbed but i think he should come on as a sub instead if were winning to hold the ball up a bit Personally i would go for delph makoun it may not work but we have to try something different There isnt to much choice but i would have given or collins as captain

just my opinion on makoun. if i had samba running at me i think i would do more than panic

just watched the first half nothing exciting going on given- not much to do collins & Dunne- solid but do some risky things sometimes young- good, wants to get forward(like kyle walker) warnock- fine petrov and makoun-seem very similar players very short passes and makoun always seems panicked on the ball bannan-can deliver a good ball but like makoun seems to panic and doesnt always pick the right time to pass and run heskey-not a winger gabby- full of running good passing and movement bent- dominated by samba and the pitch doesnt help

Should N'Zogbia complete his deal to Villa, then only need Alan Hutton to sign #AVFC fourth official tweeted this he has been very reliable so far with transfers.
