  1. Thanks. Personally I'd still not give any information to someone posting anonymously (you still don't say who "we" are), but that's just me.
  2. They didn't/don't. Scientists call it the Higgs Boson. Leon Lederman wanted to call it the "Goddamn Particle" in his book title, but the publishers insisted on the stupid term everyone bandies about.
  3. Please link your your privacy policy and let us know what you are going to do with the results. The vague promise of an ipad suggests that someone is making money from this and you post anonymously, so please explain or I'll delete it.
  4. So there is no way to create docs on an iOS device for free? Just wow.
  5. Atheism is the lack of belief (in god(s)). I guess the atheist part of your course was a little light if you came away thinking that Dawkins' atheism is a belief.
  6. I would just like to confirm the the thread was deleted in error as the guilty party was trying to delete some specific shit from twitter and deleted all of the shit from twitter. It's still on twitter if anyone is desperate to read shit. New shit will be copied from twitter into this new thread. I meant "accurate news from an source near the club/player/bookie" by the word "shit". No I didn't.
  7. But if you want one that goes back in time, you're screwed. Any mathematics which allows time travel (to date) requires that you have a receiver. There's no way to move that receiver back in time, not even to prove that mankind didn't start with one man and his invisible friend in a garden. Irrelevant really though. No-one has found something in the mathematics which would allow information to travel faster than c, which pretty much means that the rest is just mathematical games.
  8. Why would anyone give their reference number to someone they don't know/trust?
  9. If the problem is caused by the ads, there is a simple solution.
  10. I have no idea. The site isn't pointing you at that address, so it's something in your chrome or between your phone and the VT server. Have you tried flushing the browser cache? Not that I have any idea how it would have stored something that never existed. The site doesn't reflow because it's old. I can't stop working to spend the time on it, but we are looking at something that might help.
  11. PompeyVillan, have you tried a factory reset? Conor: That path has never existed on VT. I've no idea what is diverting you there. Does it happen with other browsers? I wonder if it's your ISP messing with the ad images.
  12. I can't get an error on Chrome on my S2. Perhaps you could share the error message?
  13. It's the only suggestion anyone has come up with. You'd think that for a company so creative, Apple would at least let you create new docs. Perhaps Google can fix this in their next version of the app
  14. It's clearly faulty, why didn't you take it back?
  15. It asks me to go online to create. I don't always have access. Ah, you didn't mention that you needed it to work away from the net. The Android Google Drive app certainly lets you choose "offline" then "new", I just checked. Do you have the latest version?
  16. I create things with it every day, what do you mean?
  17. Many books aren't available as downloads from anywhere. Is it a particular book or a generic question? Can you get the book on Kindle?
  18. Why is it frowned upon? There's no problem with regular posters occasionally doing this. It's different for match tickets as it is specifically illegal to sell those, but you know that from the posting guidelines.
  19. No, it's exactly the wrong way around.
  20. Nothing living is born with a fear of dying, just like nothing is born with a fear of what happened before it was born. Religion teaches that both are something to fear.
  21. Germany has presumably decided to enact a specific law because tradition has made it acceptable for parents to mutilate their children. I'm sure Germany had perfectly adequate legislation under which prosecutions could have been brought, but even in secular nations iron age tradition makes some people think "these things are acceptable". This law presumably reinforces that such assaults are illegal. It reminds people (police, prosecutors, public) that these are minors in care and ABH is ABH. I don't see how such acts can be defended on any basis. Not having any way to check on German law and only reading about this in the press I suspect this is an amendment to their existing law on assault and not a new act.
  22. I still don't see why anyone would use voice commands for anything, but in case you do: Siri vs Google Voice Search
