wedge
After Villa fans let one off in the lower North Stand after Benteke's goal yesterday, and seeing pictures of other teams supporters in the UK letting off flares plastered across social networking sites every weekend, it led me to wondering what the general attitude of football fans towards them was now that they seem to be creeping into British football fan culture. Should they be permitted? Do they pose a safety risk? Is there, or should there be a difference in punishments between a hand-held distress flare and a smoke canister? What are your thoughts on them? 8pints
They get a lot of stick but I always think there's no smoke without flares

blunther
I like em. Don't see what's particularly dangerous about them and would love to see a load of them at the top of the holte on a night match.
thetrees
Effective. I was urging the side to score again, so that I could see it before I choked to death!
CI
Big thumbs up from me Yesterday was ace, a claret cloud after the goal Would of been lovely of someone had let a light blue one go in parallel
wedge
It's quite ridiculous that someone could be imprisoned for letting off a bit of coloured smoke at a football match...
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I quite like them, in much the same way I like vuvuzelas and the England brass band.
spiezels
Flares might be abit risky as there's always gonna be kids about but coloured smoke bombs are ace imo.
coda
I don't see anything wrong with wearing flares to a football match.
