You don't want to end up with a phone which never gets updates or can't access the market. Of course, if the bootloader is unlocked you can probably flash it with whatever you like. I just asked them to enter a nominal value on the shipping info and it came through without any import tax. I would however check on forums that anything you buy is up to the task, as I had to do some modification to get a couple of things to work correctly. They are all pretty much complete rip offs of popular cars from BMW, VW etc. When questioned about why their vehicles looked exactly like the western alternatives, the Chinese companies essentially said, 'naaah, looks nothing like it'. Quite funny actually. Unless you have lots of reviews to go on I'd avoid cheap rip offs as you don't know what the build quality will be like.
