(Not saying I want RM mind you . I still think Moyes is on ) 30 years ago things were different, one of the main differences is that foreign managers didnt tend to come over to the UK and manage. players also tended to be primarily British born. things were a lot easier in those days, a player could become a success having played in the lowest division and making the jump straight up to the top. that also doesnt happen very often at all now days. information is easier to get hold of and things move 100 times faster making a mistake will also potentially bankrupt a club nowdays with the investment in players and their wages. 20 years ago it was a small factor, it was more a pisser to the fans. nowdays it makes or breaks a club, as birmingham shitty may find out if they dont bounce straight back up so 20 years ago a risk on martinez or hughes or coyle may have been a viable and worthwhile gamble. today it could potentially and more important, would be more likely than not, be a failure that is why they manage who they do at the moment and why those teams are not improving. DW PA = "An e-mail Sir." DW - "If you can't speak properly don't speak at all, you idiot." DW PA - *prints out e-mail* - "Sir, a letter has arrived through the post from a Birmingham post code requesting permission to talk to Roberto." Rafa, who still lives in the UK, has been unemployed since being sacked by Inter Milan in December. An insider at Villa has stated that Rafa has been hounding Randy Lerner, the Villa Chairman, with phone calls, texts, tweets and even personal visits. "He is constantly ringing up begging for a job, he even offered to slice the half time oranges if we gave him a tracksuit with his initials on it." It was only when Benitez turned up at Mr Lerners home address that it was decided he had gone too far. "He turned up in the middle of the night wearing nothing but a sandwich board with the words, "Will work for food" scrawled on it and a crudely cut out replica of the European Cup he won with Liverpool in 2005." It is believed this event was the final straw for Mr Lerner and after the local police lead Benitez away he called his solicitor to instigate legal proceedings.
